So I’ve been looking on ebay for more VB games, and everytime I see Virtual League Baseball its sealed. I’d like one thats cib, but for some reason those cost more than a sealed one? Normally I would just buy a sealed one but I actually want to play the game, and it would feel wrong to break the seal of an almost 25 year old game.

So does anyone know why the game is always sold sealed?

Because it was one of the first releases, before it was clear the system was going to bomb, and they WAY over-produced them. Then nobody bought it because it wasn’t even one of the better VB games. So there are tons of them that were never opened.

The majority of the donor cards used for repos are Virtual League Baseball. Don’t feel bad for breaking the seal.

Yep… don’t feel bad. I got mine NIB and only paid $14 for it. Because they are so cheap… I may buy a second one just to keep in the box.

Virtual League Baseball is the only Virtual Boy game I own CIB, and the reason is that I found my boxed copy for like $10 shipped.

So, to echo what others have said: don’t worry about breaking the seal. Video games (especially common ones) aren’t an investment. Their purpose is to bring you enjoyment.

Ah ok, thank you all for the answers, this helps alot. I’ll probably go ahead a NIB one from ebay since it doesn’t sound like it’s that big of a deal.

What’s a donor card and why are they making repros? Does this mean that alot of the cartridges are fakes?

EDIT: I have no idea how to end a quote can someone help please

Just an update, and FYI… as I said in my post above… they are cheap. SO… I actually did just buy a second one to leave sealed. ($13 shipped) There are a lot out there, cut it open and play it.

I like that comment, they’re games meant for fun not as an investment. Not that there’s much to invest in baseball there. It has a trifecta of negatives on it keeping the price poor (good for buyers.) Sports game, over produced, poorly made. You really US wise can not do worse in game selection on the VB.
