With GoldenEye, a 007 game was also being developed for Virtual Boy. The game’s developer is unclear, but one thing is for sure, the game would have had nothing to do with Rare’s Nintendo 64 masterpiece. Instead of a first person shooter, the Virtual Boy version would have been an action racing game, in which you could have taken seat in one of Bond’s dream cars.
The Virtual Boy brochure #NESM128, which contains the only known reference of the game (including a screenshot), reads:
“If you thought rush-hour traffic was a nightmare, wait ’til you get behind the wheel of 007’s car. Avoid obstacles and blow the other cars away. Buckle up for safety because, in this game, you never know what’s gonna happen.”
