を選んでプレイできるピンボール。
ステージごとに立体をいかしたさ
まざまなしかけが用意されている
のが特徴だ。
It’s pinball that you play by first choosing whichever of the four stages you want. Each stage features a variety of gimmicks that are available, which make use of the 3D.
たとえば、あるターゲットをそ
ろえると、立体的に見えている台
の上にあらたなレーンが現れたり、
台の下にもう一つの空間ができた
りと、3D空間をうまくいかして
いるだけでなく、コンピュータゲ
ームだからこそできるしかけがい
っぱいだ。得点はセーブできるの
で、気軽に遊べる1本だ。
Not only does it make expert use of the 3D space, but because it’s a computer game, there are plenty of possibilities. For example, if you finish off certain targets, a new lane may appear on the three-dimensional looking table, or another space may be created beneath the table. Also, your scores can be saved, so it can be played carefree.
台を選択する画面ももちろん立体。キーで回
転させると、1台ずつが目前に迫ってくる。
The screen where you select a table is, of course, also three-dimensional. When you rotate the tables with a control pad, they come closer to you one at a time.

Cosmic
ある条件を満たすとボーナスゲーム
のシューティングが楽しめる。

ユーフォー
UFO
ゲーム開始直後に中央のUFOが飛
び立つ。そのあとにあらたな的が…。
Right after the start of the game, the UFO in the middle flies off. After that, there are new targets….
エイリアン
Alien
空中に現れるレーンの立体感が特徴。
中央にはエイリアンのターゲットも。
This features a lane that appears in the sky with a three-dimensional feel. Also, in the center is an alien target.
コロニー
Colony
台の斜めに横断するレーンが特徴。
細かいターゲットが多いステージ。
This features a lane that runs diagonally across the table. It’s a stage with many small targets.

少起伏があっても基本となる面が
存在する。しかし、「ギャラクティ
ックピンボール」の場合は、その
面の下にあらたな空間が出現した
りするので、どこがいちばん底な
のかわからないような不思議な感
覚が楽しめるのだ。ボーナスゲー

変化が起こるのも特徴的。もちろ
んサウンドも立体的に迫るぞ！
Pinball usually has an underlying surface, even if there are some ups and downs. However, in the case of “Galactic Pinball”, a new space appears beneath the surface, so you can enjoy the mysterious feeling of not knowing where the bottom is. マリオやルイージ、ヨッシーや
ドンキーJrといったおなじみのキャ
ラを使って楽しめるテニスゲーム。
プレイヤーが操作するキャラの、
少し後ろから見た視点での立体感
あふれるゲームが特徴だ。
It’s a tennis game where you can enjoy using familiar characters such as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong Jr. It’s a game brimming over with a three-dimensional feel, with a viewpoint that is seen from behind the character controlled by the player.
足の速さやパワーなどがちがう
7人? からキャラクターを選び、
シングル、ダブルス、トーナメン
トの3つのモードが楽しめる。ダ
ブルスを選んだ場合は、コンピュ
ータがパートナーを務めることに
なるのだけれど、パートナーが打
った球がプレイヤーの頭上を飛ん
でいく感覚は、まさにバーチャル
ボーイならではの迫力だぞ。
You can choose from seven (?) characters, with different foot speeds and power, and play three modes: Singles, Doubles, and Tournament. If you choose Doubles, a computer player will be your partner. The sense of the ball hit by your partner flying over your head is certainly an appeal unique to the Virtual Boy!

You can also select a difficulty level. On Easy, the ball will not be hidden by or hit your character. Thus, you can enjoy playing according to your level. The abundance of the characters’ facial expressions is a must-see!
スマッシュがキマってマリオがピース！
立体的なだけでなく、遊び心いっぱいだ。
Mario smashes the ball and then gives a peace sign! He’s not only three-dimensional but also full of playfulness!
レベルのほか、もちろんセットマッチも選べるぞ。

本物の視点を再現！
The Appearance of a Real Point of View!
立体映像ならではの視点が見ど
ころだ。たとえば、ダブルスで自
分がネットぎわにいるとき、後ろ
にいるパートナーが見えないのは、
あたりまえのようでなかなか再現
できなかったことだ。パートナー
がきちんとカバーしてくれるかと
いう緊張感と、思いどおりに打ち
返してくれたときの満足感。この
両方がリアルに伝わってくるテニ
スゲームなのだ。
One point worthy of note is the viewpoint that is unique to stereoscopic imagery. For example, when you are at the net in Doubles, the fact that you cannot see your partner behind you feels natural, which couldn’t have been easy to produce. There’s a sense of tension as to whether your partner will cover the ball properly and a sense of satisfaction when you return it the way you wanted. It’s a tennis game where both of these pass into the real!
