Will open her up again to get a better picture but how can you tell it’s soldered? The metal lines are clearer? Maybe a scan line or two but miles better than the one I cooked for too long.

Most my stuff for vb is Japanese ! Cheaper I guess and all play in English!

My collection is updated. So glad to finally get the boxing game!

Welcome. What do you have so far?

Good to know but never saw the need to go for a wall adaptor any way. Especially as it’s an extra item to import. Stick to batteries imo!

Batteries. I’m in England and found a virtual boy boxed at mcm expo London for 120 quid 3 years ago. Including the system , 7 games and a replacement part because of my own stupidity I’ve not spent more than 200 quid. Not bad when it never came out in the uk.

6 aa batteries last hours as the red leds don’t use much power. The Japanese or USA adapters would need a step down converter to avoid blowing anything out in the system. Really not worth it.

Will try cheers dude!

Yeah I would not know how to solder anything!

Cheers guys. I will edit my profile also sometime. I’m so glad you guys are still a thing! First I need to get good!!! Lol

Sorry I left here when I broke my vb. Now I’ve fixed it I’m back. These high scores still a thing? I just ordered a sealed USA baseball game off eBay cheap so that will make 6 games! I think collecting all the commons is a good start!

Parts were from a guy who had a broken vb. I got lucky.

But the vb works great now. This replacement lens ribbon was soldered.

The oven trick worked on the other but will take the guys offer of a permanent fix but for now I’m just excited to have a boxed working vb.

Just messaged you. From reading old threads you are the guy to go to in Europe 🙂

Meh it’s very crispy now lol

Yeah took apart and put together again and now back to right eye image with thick lines. I now know the embarrassing thing I did. Oven at 200 c. All these guidelines say 200 f. In uk we use c and I mis calculated. But tried oven trick for glue now but nothing. Maybe I need 180-200 f for longer?

May have knocked alinment out

At the moment the vb is put together will photo later. The ribbon itself has black marks so yeah it’s totally ruined. Don’t know if any of the parts like your profile pic can be reused or salvaged?

Ordered a replacement so just got to wait!

I’m back after a year. I’m in the process of fixing mine up. VN104490387

It’s boxed so I know it’s a USA one but I got it in London 2 years ago!

Got mine at an expo in uk. USA version boxed vn104490387

And found Galatic pinball for 9 quid. All good
