Yea, seems like it is postal chaos right now. I have a modded SNES mini (the original system redesign, not the SNES Classic) that I sent off to get repaired and is currently lost somewhere in Cleveland. :/ Sucks they lost the housings, but at least it wasn’t the controller sockets I guess.
Lol! I’m not sure what form that would take but I know there are some creative folks on this site! If anyone asks, you can tell them it’s for all the headaches you supposedly get from playing so much VB. I swear, I feel like that had got to the the most widespread video game psychosomatic thing ever. I have played countless hours of VB and never once got a headache. Maybe we are the weird ones though 😀

Hmm, good idea, I need to get in touch with a glass blower..
That is a great setup! Awesome handheld and amiibo collections and I love the Virtual Boy themed 3DS XL. I assume you did that yourself? I have to say, after looking through all of those I was a little disappointed that the “water pipe” wasn’t VB themed as well! 😛

My main gaming room as of right now
I have read it’s optical. I’m considering getting one just because.

I had no idea there even was a SNES mouse (just googled it).hyperkin just released a new version of it: https://www.hyperkin.com/snes-hyper-click-retro-style-mouse-hyperkin.html
I somehow missed this post, and had no idea this mouse existed. Does it use a ball like the original, or is it optical?
I agree. Reading that made my glad I paid for mine. I would have screwed that up several times if I did it myself. I like to do things myself when I can, but a man has got to know his limits 🙂 Thanks again Kevin!

Interesting read. Makes me appreciate my link cable even more now, as there is no way I have the patience nor the fine motor skills to put one of these together much less dozens. Thanks for your work.
Well poo. I went on today to snag them but I guess I was too late. They had some SNES and GC ones, but not VB 🙁 Please do give another heads up if you see them.
Where are my North Texans at? Too bad (for many reasons) I don’t still live in Austin.
Wow. Those are awesome! My FlashBoy+ is begging to be transplanted into one of these!
It’s all good. I knew exactly what you meant and it’s a fair question… just can’t help my smartass tendencies sometimes 😛 Someone can jump in if I was wrong about the version, but I”m pretty sure I’ve read that before so I think it’s correct (also, since no one jumped in yet to correct me). Anyway, I was always (and still am, I suppose) an SNES man myself. It’s possible to make a passive SNES-to-VB adapter without *too* much difficulty too, so that’s an awesome way to play the game on VB! Not sure if it would work with a Genesis 6-button, but I’m guessing it would need a microcontroller or something.

Thanks. I guess I should have been more clear – I am familiar with SF II (who isn’t???), but I wasn’t sure if it was the arcade version (unlikely), the SNES, or some other console. I was a big fan of the Genesis, but I wasn’t into fighting games at the time, so didn’t own this game. Might have to pick up a copy of the Genesis version.
It’s based on a little known title from the 90’s called Street Fighter II by some indy shop named Capcom, so that’s probably why you haven’t heard of it 😛
Sorry. Couldn’t help myself 🙂 I’m pretty sure it is a port of the Genesis version of SFII: Special Champion Edition so I would just look on http://www.gamefaqs.com
It also has some rather unique unlocks:

Slightly off-topic – can anyone point me to a FAQ for the game this is based on? Thx.
That all sounds awesome. Good luck with everything. It will come in time. One thing VB fans are is patient!
As someone that doesn’t have the programming or hardware developing skills to contribute to the community, I’m sure I speak for many in saying that you shouldn’t be hard on yourself because we consider all of these talented people’s contributions an awesome bonus. Take care of yourself and your business and VB when you can, I say!
All of that said, what “promises” are you referring to? What are your projects/hopes? Looks like you are working on an emulato?. Tell me more about your project/goals is you care to when able. I love hearing about all the great stuff going on in the community these days!
Thank for the update! Looking very forward to this! Seems like it won’t be long now!

Schematics and board design are almost done. Hopefully this week. Trying to make everything fit into the existing link cable custom connector to save some time on spinning another connector design.
I’d take one too if it didn’t require donor parts. Particularly with the emergence of 2-player games. Are it saying you think your could fabricate the connector? Personally, I’m more interested in the other VB projects you have going on since you have so much on your plate, but that’s easy for me to say.

Is this something people are interested in? I could do a spin on a board to support this. I’d need to design the connector like I did for the link cable.
This is actually my very adapter that he features here on his page (by which I mean I commissioned him to design and make it). He made it for me a couple years ago and he does great work! I provided the controller port that I pulled from a “for parts” broken VB unit and he did the rest. The controller can be used with no power pack, but as a fun novelty it even has an alternate button mapping that you can enable by sliding the power switch on the controller (though you must have the power connectors on the back of the controller shorted which I do via dummy batteries in a battery pack).
If you really want one then he might make one for you. It wasn’t super cheap but it wasn’t absurd and I wanted to be able to use my VB controllers with Mednafen. It works great and it looks like a professional product!

I think the Virtual Boy controller is the best controller ever.
I mean, there are good controllers out there, but the VB one is superb.
I Would like to play it on the PC.
Is there an adapter? has anyone thought about this?http://www.raphnet.net/electronique/virtualboy_usb/index_en.php
I’m super excited about the other projects! Keep up the awesome work!

FYIAll cables are sold out now. After this batch is completed there will be 50 cables out there. Glad people are liking them.
I’m going to stop taking preorders now and will resume in a few months after other projects.
Thanks!
I bet @RunnerPack could do it too and he is in the US. He did the LED soldering repair for me a few years back and did a great job!
I know, right? But how satisfying would it be if you managed to beat Ben in Hyper Fighting while playing as Ben? Meta AF! 🙂

Actually playing Ben online scares the crap out of me 😛Hahaha, right??? I could only dream of becoming as good as Ben.
I finally got the time to get my 2-player Hyper Fighting setup going and it was amazing! Stupidly I forgot to take pictures. I couldn’t even believe what I was seeing… after all this time… at long last, true 2-player VB action. The build quality was incredible and the functionality was as good as could have been expected. Absolutely no lag that I could detect. I kept grabbing one controller and looking in the other VB to check it out! Now I need to get another FlashBoy so I can try the other 2-player games, especially Mario Tennis (and I need to get another actual human in the room with me that wants to play VB, for that matter!). Incredible job on this project @melott124!
I’m wondering what he might have in mind for SNES mouse support. Maybe some kind of point and click adventure game? I already have a passive adapter that I built for Hyper Fighting. What an interesting idea to try the SNES mouse.
