I’m sure the client info is confidential, but maybe you could request that they contact the client on our behalf and that we would be willing to pay the client for releasing the ROM. I’m sure we could whip up some funds in the community if all the interested persons pitched in.

You guys are bad negotiators. Lol, don’t need to offer money if they aren’t asking for it. Try all other options first, then bribe them after.

Just by looking at the techdemo and some screenshots, it looks like it’s already better than Water World.

Yeah the reason why I got it and was stoked was that I bought it for about $100 new in box and everything about two years ago. Some people don’t like the game, and go as far as to say that it’s the worst VB game. I really disagree, in my opinion its one of the best. The replayablity was insanely high for me, just so I could get Ending A lol. So yeah, if you can get a decent deal on it I would definitely recommend picking it up.

Wow this is awesome! Thanks for doing this!! Ok random question, but is emulating the virtual boy pushing the 3ds hardware to it’s limits? I’ve heard that the old 3ds can have a hard time emulating the SNES.. And from what I understand the VB is either as powerful or slightly more powerful than the SNES, right?

I know the New 3ds can handle super Nintendo with no problem (I have 2 new 3ds and have done it myself).

So would an emulator such as this have a harder time running on the o3ds?

Wow! The pictures they used to advertise the VB in the Superjuegos 51 Julio 1996 15.png were from Bound High, and is that other one dragon hopper? And also, they were originally going to release Kirby’s Air Ride for the N64?!

So i’ve been looking into an actual virtual boy port, considering new developments in VB Homebrews this past year. Would anyone be up for that? I dunno if i would be able to do it completely by myself, so i might look for a team in the future to help with an official port.

That would be awesome! I have no skills that would be of use to you, but out of curiosity what kind of port would you be looking to make?

Thanks for the post and the scans. I love reading different takes on the virtual boy, and in another language is always interesting too. I didnt know AC adapter in spanish was ‘fuente de alimentación’, thats kinda funny if you directly translate it (source of food.. LOL).

Good to know you found a solution. I wouldn’t use the NES adapter, because it’s AC (not DC), and I’ve heard that could fry your console.

Thats really interesting, about the book and ocean dwelling creatures. I agree, as time goes on, the monsters do look a little more oceanic.

I’m not really sure what the endings mean. I just barely beat the game with ending B right now, and there were a bunch of eyes that showed up in the dark. The main character pulls out a gun, and starts shooting at some of the eyes. Some of them disappear. Then, he tries to shoot again, and fires a blank. He has run out of ammo. Some of the eyes begin to reappear, and then you know that he’s toast.

My guess is that the Endings B,C, and D suggest that you didn’t get the “true ending”. It’s almost as if the endings are bad endings. I still haven’t gotten ending A. It seems almost impossible to achieve. I will keep playing it until I get it though.

That will be really cool 😀 It sounds like the perfect twist to a virtual boy horror game!

Wow, thank you for the thorough response. That makes sense now, and I will avoid that attack (I guess continue to avoid that attack) from now on. HAHA, YES! I love the indirect attack move. You get to attack them, but they don’t get to attack you! So cool! I like this game, and I like how it has the battery save feature.

I, too, really enjoy Mansion of Insmouse, and I am still planning to release my “All Hallows’ Eve” edition, hopefully this year.

Wow that’s awesome! Is it a Rom hack you are working on then? I’m excited to see it when it’s done

Lol… Yeah, I guess I did sound a little snoody there.

Not my intentions…

Hahah, and I was just joking too 😀 That’s cool! Now that I know how to get that ending, I’m going to try for it

X. Game Review

This is a poor game, I wouldn’t even consider it a real first person shooter.
Copies of this game are rare and expensive. Don’t feel bad if you never get a
chance to play this game, you aren’t missing anything.

Ouch! I just read the full review. No love for this game! I have a good time playing it, I think it’s one of the better virtual boy titles.

And to answer my previous question, yes you have to start from the beginning and get to “hyde”, then beat hyde without dying to get ending A.

Wow! I couldn’t find any information on it, thanks! So, you have to go from “ROPE” all the way to “HYDE”without dying. Then beat HYDE without dying, and then you will get ending A?

Yup, I contacted him back in the first week of February, and still crickets 🙁 I wish I would have sent it to the homie in Europe. It probably would have been fixed and returned by now.

Oh yes virtual bowling would be awesome! And yep, RBF is my favorite band 😀

That looks amazing! Thanks for all the hard work!
