I’ll report back and let you guys know if it fits and has the depth needed for the deep screws.

I ended up buying that one as well. It succeeded in getting the screws out, although I had to force it in a little bit to remove the two screws near the part that attaches to the VB stand. Didn’t damage the plastic at all, though.

Man, that’s a hell of a lot of money to spend on a Virtual Boy case. You really are dedicated.

I’d be interested in buying some of those parts. Check your PM inbox.

The bit is too thick to fit into the hole. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to a dremel or grinder to file the bit down with.

Regular Bic pens are too wide to fit into the hole.

VN104947720- Bought it at some guy’s yard sale.

Surprisingly, it does a fine job of holding the VB without that clip. Unless you hold it upside-down or something.

Unfortunately I bought it second-hand, and the piece that broke had been lost a long time ago. Ebay hasn’t yielded any results either, aside from buying another system. 🙁

Back again. I seem to be able to temporarily fix the glitchy display by leaving the Virtual Boy on the ground with the eyepieces facing upwards. I don’t know why this works, but it seems to do the trick for now. Unfortunately, it’s very easy to accidentally knock the cables out of place again while playing.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I’ll just leave the IPD to the left for a while and see if that changes anything :-P. I can’t wait for my gamebit to arrive so I can fix this.

Hi everyone.

I bought a used Virtual Boy with six games a week ago, but to my dismay, I started seeing the dreaded “horizontal lines” on my display yesterday. The problem seems to be with the right display. While I wait for a 4.5mm gamebit to show up in the mail, I was wondering if anyone here has found a quick fix for this issue that doesn’t involve opening the system. Something along the lines of the Xbox 360 “towel trick”, perhaps?

Thanks.
