Man I’m so excited to check this out! I’m glad you released it! I remember asking you about it a few years ago 🙂
I think I figured it out.
Since the display box was made by Blockbuster it would have been empty.
They pulled the Mario Tennis along with cart baggie from the boxed Virtual Boy they would have got to rent out as well.
Hey everyone, referring to the US version. I know it wasn’t a normal retail release that’s why I thought it was odd there was a cart bag in there, as I’ve never seen another like it.

Why even use ‘Blockbuster” in the listing? He shoulda just stated it’s a custom hard case. This way it just seems like he’s trying to hide the fact it isn’t an original case
It’s kind of odd, it looks like an authentic travel master outside of the case (Maybe not for a Virtual Boy), but custom foam on the inside
The music in this game is really awesome. Thanks for all you do man!

Awesome, I was counting on a response from you 😉

these misprints aren’t common, but they do happen. I have a Wario Land demo cart that has white along the tops of the letters on the Virtual Boy logo where there shouldn’t be.
I wonder if all Wario Land demo carts have this error? Mine does as well, and every one currently on ebay has this same error.

Yeah, this was known. Just goes to show how close some of the unreleased games were to finished/releasing.Virtual Baseball 2 US version was just a roster update if memory serves me correct. The Japanese one got the US versions more realistic players as a change as well.
I feel like new maps were going to be added as well, as one of the screenshots shows an indoor stadium
This is awesome!! I have always been looking for options to replace the inside foam because mine was completely destroyed when it was shipped to me 🙁 .
This is awesome!! Glad to see a game like this on Virtual Boy! One of my favorite game series, the LISA series, is heavily influenced by Yume Nikki. This is really cool!
Here you go
I remember seeing a video like this years ago and cringing. I just felt uneasy seeing one destroyed like that.
I dont know why people feel the need to make these videos. Everyone was praising him in the comments too. I watched it til the end though and he showed that he didnt destroy the working one where both eyes looked completely fine (like I thought he did) , just a for parts one headset only.
If you don’t want to support it just use adblocker to watch his video 😉

With the entire emulation core implemented, with the experience of producing the emulator of my dreams, and with a sigh of relief, I’m finally freed up to do other things. I won’t be abandoning this project–far from it–but as of this latest update, it is no longer my primary spare-time focus. I’ll still work on it from time to time when other things don’t have my attention, but since interest in this project is very low, there are other things I want to be doing that I’ve been putting off.The remaining window menus will be implemented in the coming weeks, but I won’t be sticking too strongly to my Wednesday update schedule like I have been for the past couple of months. If someone is keenly interested in something that can’t be clicked on, I’d be happy to prioritize it to make it available, but if it’s just a matter of “it’s not done yet”, then I’ll get to it when I get to it. (-:
As for what I will be doing, there’s 1) a long-neglected project with some other PVB members I’d like to get the ball rolling on, 2) something I want to do with Wario Land and 3) something related to NES that I’d like to keep a complete secret until the time comes.
For those who have stuck with me through all of this, thank you for your patience and thank you for your financial support. Planet Virtual Boy’s emulator is becoming something great and that means the world to me.
This is great news about your other projects! Looking forward to all of them!! Thank you for all that you do.
I’ve always wanted to try some sort of “HORSE” game, where one person does something specific in any game of their choosing, and everyone who can’t repeat it gets a letter, and you’re out if you spell HORSE. Maybe one challenge per week, and the challenger rotates among all participants.
For example, it’s my week to be the challenger, so I get one day to pick a game and do something. Before the end of the day on Monday, I post that I bowled a 220 in Nester’s Funky Bowling. Everyone has all week to try to match it. Everyone who fails by Sunday night gets a letter, and now it’s VmprHntrD’s turn to choose a game and challenge. VmprHntrD gets a high score on a specific Galactic Pinball table. And so on.
Verification and picture taking might get tricky, but we’ll figure something out. Ostensibly, we’d discuss how to get good scores etc. since people will typically choose games they’re already good at, just like real HORSE.
There would have to be signups, with a defined agreed-upon list of what games can be played. Ideally, everyone would have a Flashboy and everything would be fair game. But it would still be doable with a subset, like “all US releases minus Jack Bros” or whatever everyone agrees on. But nobody should get a letter just because they haven’t shelled out for an expensive game.
Just a brain-child I’ve had for a while. Would be good for VB since the bigger the library, the crazier it would get.
This sounds fun! I’d be up for it

Good to know, I’ll give Wario Land 2 a shot again.I get Wario Land is supposed to be different than Mario, but in my opinion the VB version does the best job of being different, but similar enough that it’s super easy to get into if you’ve played a Mario game. There’s still treasures to find and the key is mandatory, and it does play different enough to differentiate itself.
Good idea! It’s a great game! I agree with you. Virtual Boy Wario Land is tied for favorite with Wario Land 4 for me. I love them both! After all, VB Wario Land is how I discovered the Virtual Boy, I was looking at a list of all the Wario Land games on Wikipedia and I saw VB Wario Land and the rest is history 🙂

VB Wario Land is by far my favorite Wario game.Wario Land 2 and 3 just didn’t grab me, it deviated too far from the ‘Mario’ formula for me. Having to collect/do certain things to progress? No thanks. VB Wario Land absolutely nailed the balance of collecting vs standard get to the goal. I like how collecting isn’t mandatory to finish, but more of an incentive to play again and explore.
The original GB Wario Land is one of those ones I’ve been meaning to play, so can’t comment on that one. I’ve played a bit but not near as much as I’d like to.
That’s the thing, Wario isn’t supposed to be just like Mario. The point is for it to be it’s own thing. The collecting and finding treasure to progress adds new fun to the game. It adds hours you can spend going back and trying to collect all the treasure, especially in Wario Land 2. After you beat the game the first time you get a new map screen showing all the different paths and if you have found the treasure or not. Getting it all unlocks a new level. In Wario Land 2 it is not necessary, as like the VB version. It is only 3 and 4 where collecting is necessary to progress. Wario Land 3 does have some weird features, like the golf minigame you must play in each level, but no other Wario game is as far from the rest as that one.
Wario Land is one of my favorite series of games and is even how I found the Virtual Boy!
Wario Land 1 plays pretty slow, and is different from the rest and takes some getting used to, but is fun.
Wario Land 2 has you exploring stages to find treasure, is action-packed, and features a ton of levels and it widely-regarded as the best in the series.
Wario Land 3 is like Wario Land 2, but more puzzle oriented and has you replaying stages to find new treasures.
Wario Land 4 on the GBA is my personal favorite. It has the most depth of any of the games. In each level you must find four jewel pieces and a key to advance to the next level. There aren’t specific treasures hidden like previous games, but there are music tracks to find and a lot of money to be found. There are also big boss fights. It has great graphics, 18 levels, and is my favorite GBA game in general.
Wario Land Shake it on the Wii is a fun game, but I haven’t played it in years and can’t remember.

Awesome – they scanned it as well for people I believe, I can’t be certain I find Reddit really awkward to navigate to be honest.
Me too, I only found this because it showed up in “Articles for you” on Google lol
