My buddy was most likely excited about it, considering he’s a math student at
University of Waterloo. It pretty sure I remember him saying something about the entire department having a celebration every year.

Very Cool!!!

It really is too bad that there couldn’t have been even just a handful more of games released for the VB… but either way, it still my favourite system next to N64 😎

Yes it was… But since the original price was so high, I never bothered to get one when it first came out.

I don’t know for certain, but I do know that games/systems released in Canada these days ALWAYS include either separate instructions in French, or the manual has an English half, and a French half. I actually think it’s the law since Canada is considered a bilingual country (silly law really since almost no one speaks French outside of the province of Quebec)…

I’m curious to know what those who own the Red Alert Demo Cart, or the Wario Land Demo Cart paid for them?

Also, how rare are these two US Demo Carts, compared to lets say, US Jack Bros? I know that if you look at a list of the Released Games, it shows the rarity on a scale of 1-10.

Where would these US Demo Carts fall on that 1-10 scale????

Thanks for any and all input! 😎

Apparently somebody really wanted that Sealed Jack Bros. copy on Ebay, because it is no longer listed!

I’m curious to know if anybody on this board happened to purchase it for the $250 US Buy it Now asking price!?!?!?!

I know that the specific Jack Bros. you linked is sealed, but it doesn’t appear to be in the greatest condition (I know, I know, it’s still sealed)… and maybe I’m a bit more anal than the average buyer, yet I find it worrisome when a corner looks torn, because I’ve received a “Factory Sealed” game in the mail before, and the small rip had become a larger hole… 😕 That’s without even considering what looks like a possible indentation in the box (again, me being overly critical, but that would be seemingly justifiable considering the price).

Some may consider $250 US a reasonable price, but it’s too rich for my blood – unfortunately.

Well, I guess there will be one less person to compete with next time the same thing comes along 😛

Anyways, I hope you enjoy that, because I sure would have been!

So, the first one is back in my wild days when I had hair, but not a wife (and still rocked out), and the second one is more or less what I look like now (after settling down (and rocking out much much less).

I actually just lost out to a NFB Brand New Factory Sealed copy the other day on Ebay. It went for about $38 US, so I was pretty upset I didn’t manage to win. Doesn’t it suck when you can’t be at your computer when a bid is ending!?!?

I was interested in that specific bid, but the seller wouldn’t ship to Canada! It seems silly to me that so many American Ebayers refuse to ship across the border. I’ve bought close to a hundred things on Ebay over the last several years, without any issues whatsoever… It really blows when I can’t even bid on something like that just because shipping isn’t an option 🙁

HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

I’ve never even heard of such a thing!!! I’m actually laughing out loud as I read the response to what I wrote..

I listen to lots of metal, death metal, a bit of black metal, but not too much hardcore… by hardcore, are you meaning the original style of hardcore (like the very fast post-punk stuff the Beastie Boys did at the beginning of their existance) or are you talking about the stuff people call hardcore these days, which is basically break-down after break-down after break-down and not a whole lot of melody or song structure whatsoever?

I’m not trying to rip on you if that’s what you like, it’s just not my thing.

I actually still have my green Game Boy camera, which I purchased way back in the day. I also used it obsessively for a good 6 months, maybe more. I haven’t touched the thing in years, but I know that there are lots of photos still on that thing I took well over a decade ago now! I should really get it out and take a look at those old photos…

Anyways, I must admit, my favourite thing about it was the DJ game where you got to create your own music. It was quite complex from what I remember, and it was very challenging, but also very rewarding after sitting down for several hours and being able to have something you could listen to after it was all said and done.

I never did fully master that DJ game, but I remember you could take one of your photos, and paste it on the DJ’s head! So, anyways, I took a photo of a stuffed teddy bear (really it was a stuffed brown and white dog, with long floppy ears) and pasted it on my DJ’s head…. I remember laughing out loud when I would start up a track and this dog-headed-DJ would start scratching and moving around to the music! HAHAHAHAHA…..

That camera provided me with countless hours of fun for much longer than one would think possible. 😛

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and quick reply!

A good friend of mine growing up actually had a VB and a handful of games – probably more than 10 years ago now, when I was just a youngster. He was so protective of that thing that I barely even got to try it out – but from the little bit of use he let me in on, I remember how AMAZING it was…

…and now I want to start a collection and start playing it…

It’s so great to know that there is still an active forum up and running with people who haven’t forgotten about this incredible gem-of-a-system that’s hidden away from most everyone, just waiting to be discovered, or in my case, re-discoverd…

I actually haven’t found a good deal on a Virtual Boy System yet, but I’ve already purchased Factory Sealed copies of Red Alarm as well as Galactic Pinball! I’m so excited to get them in the mail sometime soon, but I’m even more excited as I eagerly wait with anticipation for the day to arrive when I have my very own VB to love and cherish 😀 just as my friend did many years ago. 😀
