Lots of international PayPal buyer fraud…

On a lighter note, check out a BIN I scored yesterday:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/170722118005

I guess attempting to commit fraud never crosses my mind for my own transactions, which is why I didn’t even think of that as a possible reason. Plus, I previously didn’t know that it was easier to prevent fraudulent claims of non-receipt within one’s own country than with shipping across seas, so thanks for that info.

Nice BIN! 🙂

As an eBay Top Rated seller (toot toot) with multiple accounts and tens of thousands of positive feedback I can say I have a ton of experience on the issue of international shipping.

Although there is a certain amount of fraud which takes place, the vast majority of the Item Not Received disputes are due to customs officials seizing anything which suits their fancy. The worst offenders are in Italy and France, surprisingly enough.

It doesn’t matter if it is an eBay purchase or me just shipping something cool to a buddy in England – it seems that about 10 percent of packages just *poof* into nothingness once they reach customs. That is why I do not offer international shipping on anything I sell on eBay.

Curiously enough – I have *never* had a problem sending anything to or getting anything from China.

That was the box I was planning on using but I will have to ask the creators permission first. This box will be very high quality. If anyone is interested please copy and add your name to the list but only if you are 100% committed.

I am the original creator, and please, feel free to use my camera ready box art… just be sure to leave my copyright notice on there. It’d also be spiffy if I got a freebie out of this. 😉 (but only if you want to)

Make sure you also get the cutpath file so you can know how to die-cut the box.

A Virtual Boy fan from South Dakota has asked me to find a new owner for her Virtual Boy. The system misses the controller, battery pack, and half the stand, but it is said to work fine.

If anyone in the US is looking for a Virtual Boy system and is interested in giving this one a good new home for the price of shipping, let me know and I’ll get you in contact. 🙂

I’ll take it.

Just let me know how much is shipping and to where I should send the Paypal.

I found where they (Gold and Silver Pawn Shop) just sold one in the hard case on eBay. The auction ended yesterday.

I am working on releasing the 3D Panic Bomber comic book, cover shown below. I was wondering what the exact title of it was and would like to ask for help with translating the cover. 🙂

It says Tobidase Panibon (their name for the Panic Bomber game) and underneath that real big it says “VIRTUAL BOY 3D BOOK”

You want Space Invaders? I doubt this is going to stay at 1 cent now that I’ve posted it here:

Just threw a decent sized bid at it. 😉

It’s really been driving me nuts, this eBay seller “Yamatoku” keeps selling AC Adapter taps while showing a pic of a demo tap. *** talk talk talk *** Power seller or not, this person is a scumbag trying to inflate prices for ordinary regular taps and he knows it.

Look out for yourself.

I ordered one from him and it just arrived in the mail. It *IS* the demo version, with the pixellated/mosaic picture. :O

What I was thinking of doing, since I run a print shop, is making the boxes and manuals and then offering the pair up on here for anyone willing to pay the shipping cost.

Just wondering, did the plans go through for this, or is it on hiatus?
I would love to have a box/manual to go with my Bound High cart.

Here’s the box : http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=15219#forumpost15219

… but there are simply not enough hours in the day for me to finish the manual. 🙁

If anyone has a box mockup please let me know…

Here… use mine…

As I said , Nintendo invents Sony copies :

Sony introduces the Sony 3D Visor, a Head Mounted Display

PS: WTF !!,Terrible Virtual Boy ? Gameranx sucks !! XD

Number 1 : Nintendo didn’t invent the head mounted display.

Number 2 : Sony is gearing this towards *movies* – not gaming.

Number 3 : Just because someone does something first, that doesn’t mean everyone else must NEVER DO ANYTHING SIMILAR ever again. Remember, Atari was making game systems before Nintendo – where would we be if Nintendo didn’t step up and take a whack at it?

Number 4 : You saying Gameranx Sucks because of the opinion of one writer is about as hypocritical as it gets. So, by comparison, what if someone else sees what you said about Gameranx and starts saying PlanetVB sucks in response?

Number 5 : The Virtual Boy is a failed console. This fact is not in doubt. It was widely criticized and very unsuccessful. If Sony simply “copied” the Virtual Boy they will no doubt meet with the same level of success. Perhaps they have something more impressive up their sleeve?

Think before you reply.

If this is true do any of you have a Contact Us email for them?

I would like to have voice if true…

It isn’t true. There are no restrictions on selling Virtual Boy items.

A warning to ALL. eBay is banning all Virtual Boy items. They sent me 4 violation policies in 1 hour for listing 4 virtual boy games. They stated verbatim, that if the word Virtual is in my title, it is a policy violation. I of course explained Virtual boy as a tangible console and games, but had no resolve. I told them the actual UPC codes, but they said I could only list them as accessories and still could absolutely not use the word “Virtual” in the title.

They said I could list my games such as “Virtual Lab” in the game accessories section, as long as the word virtual was not used………

OK, raise of hands here. How many people would find my copy of “Virtual Lab” without the word Virtual? My entire eBay title is “LAB”? Virtual Bowling can only be sold as “Bowling”. F*&^)(@ ultimate eBay fail.

I suggest everyone contact eBay and complain about this “no questions asked” removal of the word virtual in the video games section.

For the first time in a VERY long time, I will say this will be the downfall of the VB for the second time.

(And No, eBay still refused to create a “VB” category for VB collectors without the word Virtual)

So in the future, no VB games can have the word “Virtual” in the title. Time to rename the console, I Guess?
No more prototypes will be surfaced, that’s for sure. 🙁

I talked to my dedicated rep at eBay (I’m username “uber-hot” on eBay, and I have 11 Top-Rated seller accounts, some are platinum power seller accts.) and he said that the auctions were probably ended in error, and that he knows of no reason why they should’ve been ended. He acknowledged a policy of ending virtual items, but the fact that an item is called a “Virtual ______” should not, in and of itself, be removed. Virtual Boy items can still be bought and sold on eBay.

It would take a substantial redesign to make something like this work. The way the VB displays video is totally different from the way your glasses work.

VB uses a high speed rotating mirror in conjunction with a string of red LEDs to give the illusion of two screens, but in fact at any point in time you are only seeing a 1 pixel wide tower of light. It’s just moving so fast your brain doesn’t realize.

Your best bet would be to rig up some sort of mini computer with an emulator that can support left/right screens, but either way it will be exceedingly difficult.

Question : “Why is Gunpei Yokoi’s (pronounced: “GOON-pay YO-ko-ee”) name sometimes spelled “Gunpei” and other times spelled “Gumpei?” Which is correct?”

Answer : In the Japanese language just about every consonant is followed by a vowel. For instance there would be 5 “R” letters. Ra, Re (ray), Ru (roo), Ri (ree), and Ro.

The only real exception is N. There is na, ne, nu, ni, and no, but there is also an “n” by itself.

There is no “m” by itself.

Sometimes, in some areas, people pronounce their N a little different, but I can’t stand it when people spell things like that.

Soooo… The power went out in the middle of the night while you were asleep, so you woke up and played Virtual Boy until the power came back on, then you went back to sleep?

Why didn’t you just stay asleep?

I asked how to pronounce it and I got a response which I thought it was right. It’s obvious that you know more about how to pronounce his name than I do so I’ll try my best to correct it.

My pronunciation is correct *cough* fluent in Japanese for 19 years *cough* used to be a professional translator *cough* taught English as a second language at Virginia Tech *cough*

Correct pronunciation is :

Goon pay yo ko ee

this is an interesting project as it would complete the boung high cart i’ve just received. have you guys considered getting KR155E involved? he did make the fb+ box i have and its excellent quality. any thoughts about who will write the manual?

I’m working on one as we speak.

What I was thinking of doing, since I run a print shop, is making the boxes and manuals and then offering the pair up on here for anyone willing to pay the shipping cost.

It arrived today! Oh Fraptious day!

Now I can get back to work on making a manual for it!

Wow, what a bummer. Guess your bid didn’t go through, I was high bidder for $301.01 for days before the auction ended and only one person sniped at the end.

I hope you’re feeling well or get well soon.

Dammit. I had bid $300.00. Argh.
