Dunno which method I’ll go for. I do own a lot of games so it may be worth getting a quality bit/driver. This one was gotten on Ebay when I was building up my NES collection. The ridges on it aren’t as defined as I’d like them to be.

I can’t reach the 4 deep ones. Before cutting anything I might take a trip to the shop and see if they have something that will work. Dang these security screws.

The bit I used ‘worked’ but it seemed to slip a little on the screws.

I bought it used but it has to be a US retail model. Not sure what would distinguish it as something else. Obviously there was no demo stand with it.

Oh. I don’t know a thing about Gundam. Guess it’ll be a long wait.

Did I miss the cart release or is this still just DL only? I think I want this version over the proto version and would prefer a cart depending on price.

Geez, it’s a good thing I asked then. For some reason I assumed this would hold more than one game and they just needed to be placed in a folder. Despite owning a huge number of consoles this is the first time I’ve done anything like this. Everything else was simple ROM’s in an emulator so I didn’t need to clean NES carts.

Thanks for the link. I’ll get myself set up first and while it’s crunching the files I’ll set up the VB.

Excellent. Mine finally arrived today. It’s probably straightforward but is there a basic set of instructions on this forum on how to use it? Or it is as simple as dragging some files onto it and tossing it into the VB?

Now I need to find all those games I was never able to try.

I’d say that’s definitely the right choice. I didn’t know if the proto cart had any of the extra data.

Now we just need to wait for it to be available…

I missed out on the proto. Is there a post explaining the difference between that and the Remastered cart coming soon? I’d like to get one of them but probably don’t need both. Unless there are a lot of changes.

Thanks. You’re only crazy if you buy games with no intent to use ’em. Games want to be played, ya know?

Quick question. How long did you folks wait for your games or at least a confirmation note? I don’t want to seem impatient, I just want to know my payment went through and that the games were still available. I didn’t see anything that indicates how many are left.

*Ho-ly crap. It figures my comment would be found by someone like you. Just saw your collection. Whew.

Hey that’s not a bad idea. Same result without the crazy cost for those ‘official’ cases. Right now my VB is sorta loosely stored in its box. I have the cardboard insert but would have to find a different spot for the games and AC adapter. Of course if I had a case then I wouldn’t be using the box and it would probably be in a lot worse shape.

I wonder if anyone has made a template of the foam from the BB case. That would help create a secure solution, which we could then carve additional space for extra accessories that wouldn’t fit in the BB case.

Already done.

I don’t display a lot either, at least not for things outside of the current gen. The majority of my games are packed away until I wanna play ’em again. The current stuff fills enough shelves. But I guess I have a soft spot for boxes and manuals to make a cart feel complete.

Yeah I wish I could track down a hard shell case for a decent price.

I’m in sort of a gray area. I call myself a collector because I’ve amassed a huge assortment of games and systems over the years. I also make the effort to buy clean/complete games. http://home.roadrunner.com/~dpsx7/main.html

Yet I’m not one of those crazy people who needs everything sealed. I too buy only what I intend to play (which is still way more than I realistically have time for). Full sets include buying all those yearly sports games and a ton of other fluff I’d never touch, to me it’s a waste of money.

Then I saw these games and thought this would be a great way to extend my VB library which never had many games to start with. In the off chance they become valuable I’m not opposed to collecting rare games that will get better with age. Some of my SNES and PS1 RPG’s are worth a bit more now.

Ok, so technically I have to chat with both of you. Gotcha. I see from the main forum listing it doesn’t display a year when the post is recent, meaning I’m not reviving a thread from years ago on accident.

I guess I’ll get in touch with him and see how things are going. Thanks. With any luck I’ll be sending you a message too.

Don’t miss Space Pinball:

That’s the last reason my wallet hates me. Although I couldn’t find much info or any screenshots I took the chance since the production runs were so limited.

This is the first time I’ve bought homebrew or unofficially produced carts. I’ve considered it before but my problem is that I’ve collected so many games over the years it’s tough to keep playing them all. Often these games have abnormally high prices or sell out before I ever knew they were made.

There’s just something unique about the VB plus the fact it’s the only full set I own with there being only 14 US games. Since the JP games are so expensive and the library so limited the Flashboy cart is next on my list.

Just got a copy for myself and everything seemed to go smoothly.

I would likewise be interested. Seems like the perfect game for the VB.

Just found the forum and thought I’d join in. I collect games and happened across a VB years ago at a hobby shop. They were selling the unit, accessories, and 6 games for only $50, naturally I couldn’t resist. I managed to track down the remaining US games although the rarest few don’t have their boxes and manuals. A slight disappointment but my focus is on the games anyway. I don’t make much of an effort to collect JP games though, the prices on those scare me anyway. Ha.

Hey folks. As you can tell I just signed up after finding out about this device. Am I too late to inquire about this cart? I don’t see a year listed with the date on the above posts. I’d just like to see if the price is still the same, and whether we can order from the US or only the UK.

I’m from the US and don’t have any donor carts (hopefully you have some left over). Is there a box/manual included or not?
