I’m curious, speedyink, what swag did they enclose?

I used to enjoy writing letters to Nintendo at Nintendo Power as a kid. Nice to see they maintain that level of customer service.

An in-store Japanese display currently at $1,500.

They are all Japanese versions that have been fan translated into English and then placed onto reproduction carts with new boxes, labels and manuals.

Thanks. The quality is so good, they look original!

I’m curious about SD Gundam and Space Squash, but what exactly am I looking at here? Originals? English home brew ports?

Would the 3D sprite you mentioned basically consist of several layers of PNG images over top of each other?

I’m mainly guessing, but I think you’d need to be a skilled enough artist to draw two versions of the same sprite, each from a slightly different perspective to represent what something would look like if you only had your left (or right) eye open.

Here’s two slightly different views of a 2d drawing, like a detailed sprite. See if you can spot some of the differences between them.

Cross your eyes so they overlap and your brain will process it as if it were a 3D model.

I got mine at launch. I was really hyped up courtesy of Nintendo Power. Saved up and dropped a bunch of cash at Toys R Us.

I ended up with six games and there it’s sat on a shelf ever since.

I’ve just now gotten back into it and I’m up to 13 games, I think. NES Freak helped repair my ribbon cables, and I’ve really been enjoying it.

Here’s mine: VN10058308[3]

It was a North American launch console, so I suppose it’s from ‘95. Pretty exciting purchase for me as a kid. Fun to get back into it now.

OP,

I just won a new (still defective) ribbon on ebay. I’d like to fix the new (still defective) ribbon and the one good (still functioning) ribbon I already have installed. I’ll PM you.

Thanks,

Dan

If you end up with one extra, working ribbon cable, can you let me know?

I destroyed mine trying to repair it…
