Same.. it has been atleast a year since I played or been on the site. Not sure the reason, but the other day I had the urge to get out my VB and flash bound high on my flashboy. Since then I have found some English translations I am excited to play.
I was hoping to come back to more news about Snatcher! But 2 player Mario Tennis and an official emulator and Bound High proto is amazing news!
That looks a little different then the problem I experienced back in July, but it would be worth your while to clean the lens part of the display. I will quote theforce81 from my previous thread. It worked like a charm for me.

Your problem is easily solved. I have seen countless of these problems when soldering displays for members here. The problem is a tiny speck of dirt on the lens part of the display which you cannot see with the naked eye.
The best way to get rid of it, is to rub with a lint free cloth with a good amount of pressure, this solved it 99% of the times I have seen it on displays. In the 1% of the cases, it is a scratch and I haven’t found a way to fix that yet.

So awesome 🙂 Keep up the great work, we can’t wait to test this out!
Wow, you don’t know how happy I am to now know about Bad Apple. I haven’t seen this before, really impressive to see it run on the Gameboy and NES.. it even looked pretty good on the Vectrex. You are right, this now needs to happen on our beloved VB! Thanks for the share.
This is really exciting news! A save feature sounds amazing. Thanks for your dedication to this game and the VB scene 🙂
Thanks for the compliments and the great feedback everyone 🙂 Glad you all share my love for Rez, and glad I could give you a little glimpse of my vision of what I thought Rez would look like on the Virtual Boy.
I have cooked mine twice as well now… it is still working but yesterday the left display flickered 🙁 It is only a matter of time… I just contacted HP Lovethrash about soldering my displays, as I hear he is the go to contact for North America.
What got me excited for the Virtual Boy again was the moment I found out a Homebrew Scene actually existed for the Virtual Boy, I was blown away and acquired a flashboy as soon as I could.
I am like everyone else on here, I would love to see more official prototypes be released and recovered for our beloved VB but I would love to see more homebrew released. It is too bad we didn’t have some developers interested in releasing new full length games for the VB, like the Dreamcast for example.
Keep on dreaming 🙂
Audio composer for VB? That would have been amazing! I hope to see something like this some day. I wish you the best on everything you are working on 🙂
I have been wondering the same thing. I thought it would be neat to put a picture of my kids, or their favourite characters in to the Virtual Boy for a surprise. A image viewer in 3D would be really cool.
I downloaded both Virtual Box and Pro Motion as linked above, with time and patience hopefully I can make something 🙂 thanks for the links!
I will test this tonight, keep on coding my man!
Oh neat, I could show the world how much I love Tetris!
I thought it was so cool that Mark Nicholson replied in good time and made mention to share his message with the forum. He provided a great concise response, kudos to him.
I can’t help wondering how those VB displays ended up in a parts bin? Maybe it was true that Sanyo had a bunch laying around and donated them. Maybe it was a fan… or maybe someone gutted a VB for parts…
I find it a little disturbing that somewhere out there, an empty virtual boy shell is laying in a ‘parts bin’ in some studio. Which means an official Nintendo eyeshade, and eyeshade holder are probably batted around and overlooked, like some piece of garbage. At least the displays were re-purposed as a prop.
TheForce81, thunderstruck, HP Lovethrash are the real heroes of this thread. Nice work boys.

70 copies? For aftermarket releases that’s nothing to sneeze at, but when there’s hundreds – maybe thousands – of people fighting for those 70 copies, most of which are unavailable, it’s easy to see how the price shot up so much.It is definitely a really amazing game, both in a programming effort and in hardware as well. It’s the only 32Mbit Virtual Boy game, it even saves your data. The PCB inside is pretty neat.
I played the demo for quite a while last night. The game certainly is an incredible feat. It looks so good, the 3D is wonderful. It also plays just like the original, and I was surprised how many stages I was able to play in the demo. This game brings back all those feelings of wonder, and shows the true potential of the Virtual Boy. Wow, to think what could have been!
I want this game even more now 🙂
Wow, I don’t even have words to describe the idiocy of that guy. I have seen hoards of zombies playing this game too, I mean kids. Oh well, at least they are out side.

There are a lot of Atari/NES/Dreamcast/SNES/Genesis/DOS, etc, homebrew releases that I wish I owned and I am not going around the Internet asking for leaked copies to be released because I was not able to buy a physical copy. Really, no one should be.
Lots of good points in your reply. Sorry if I came across like a beggar. I don’t make a habit about whining about games I will never have. I was trying to make it clear I didn’t want anything for free. I also wouldn’t want anyone to be “crushed” for any reason what so ever. Thanks for the response.

You don’t get to play with all characters, but you can see first hand with your own eyes how good the 3D is that way and the crisp display. As for the full game that doesn’t fit on the Flashboy, well it’s Street Fighter 2, there are many platforms to play it.
I actually just downloaded the demo. I can’t wait to try this out. I remember a while back seeing the download for it. I honestly totally forgot.
Thanks everyone for putting in your two cents. I always appreciate the informative feedback from the VB community. I do own a flashboy+ and can’t wait to get a taste of this game. It is ridiculous I have not done so yet.
I just received the eye shade the other day. It was a very welcomed addition as I was using a homemade eye shade. I didn’t have an original to compare it to, but it seemed to fit pretty snug on my 3D printed eye shade holder. The top of the eye shade seems to have a small gap above the eye shade holder, just like in the photo you showed. But it does the job it is supposed to do, and it looks a hell of a lot better than what I was using. I am sure it is no replacement for the original, but for some one in my situation it is perfect.
I haven’t heard of this before! Very cool, I have been interested in micro computers for a while now. My next purchase has to be a Raspberry Pi though, so I can build a DreamPi.
I have accepted the fact that I am missing out, and realize it is not a big deal. This happens to me all the time with games, it is just that I am a pretty big fan of pokemon so this is a little different. I am happy Nintendo is having a lot of success and happy people are having fun with it.
haha I am now more excited that I just ordered a copy of Galactic Pinball so I can try and get on the leader boards here at PVB 🙂
I also agree with HP Lovethrash Nintendo could make a lot of money if they dug up those unreleased VB files… man they would make a mint off of this forum alone.
