Runnerpack, thats sound advice. I will definitely be getting mine done soon so.

Theforce, i saw you sent me a pm, but it was blank. If you want to email me my mail is actingtheham @ yahoo .ie

Thanks all of you for your help!

Thanks for that, i will definitely head that route the next time some glitches show up, i got about 8 months out of the last oven fix, but yea i guess its not something you would want to be repeatedly doing!

cool, i didn’t actually know there was an option to solder the ribbons. Would all i have to send be the two ribbon cable pieces themselves?

My display isn’t working, with lines showing up, flickering, or outright screens not working. Is there anywhere I can send it for repairs, seeing as how I lack the tools and skill for opening and fixing the VB?

Hey dude, have a look on youtube, its actually very easy you just need the long gamebit screwdriver and a very small philips head screwdriver. And just take care with the oven timing. If I can do it, anyone can do it

Hmm, I wonder would toothpaste work on my scratched vinyl 🙂

Forgive my ignorance, had a look at my vb last night and there’s a sticker in japanese on it, does that definitely make it a jap vb? Will the serial number help verify where it came from? Thanks!

We’ve got one retro shop here in ireland that seems to put a premium on the games they get in. In my experience a bit of haggling is the way to go. Once they can see you know what the price should be a bit of respect should be shown by them.
I picked up five uncommon boxed games the other day, no prices on them but the common loose carts were starting at 7-10 euro each, said to the dude at the counter i’ll give ya 30 for the lot, he countered with 35, happy enough with that! Always worth chancing your arm

Thanks for the welcomes! Liking the place already haha!!

I got a VB, the cousin got it cheap because it wasn’t working and fixed the screen so it’s now 100%, and I think 6 or 7 loose carts, including Waterworld so happy days there. I do want to get a tap adapter so I don’t have to pump the thing with batteries all the time, that’s how I found planetvb, I was looking for info on the adapter, I’m gonna have to check where my vb is from so I order the right one.

Owning a VB is one of those things I thought I would never have, so I’m fairly delighted to have it. Next up, a Vectrex!
