Well, so nobody isn’t confused; the container I store it in isn’t the official hard case

I store my Virtual Boy in its box, and then put that into this large solid container (which actually has some other stuff around it (DVD’s, Wii games, etc.) it is packed in snug, I think) and sometimes the VB is out of its box, yet still in the large container (with the VB sitting on top of its box) in which it has LOTS of wiggle room (I never move the container if my VB is not in its box, because it most likely would be damaged)

I forgot what setting I have left my IPD at… (I certainly hope it isn’t to the right!)

I store my Virtual Boy in a solid blue container due to its fragile nature

1. Where’s the best place to find a Virtual Boy and is it worth it?

2. Is there a way to run homemade stuff on the machine?

3. What did you think of Angry Video Game Nerd’s review on it?

4. What’s the programming language and what do you need to make homemade games.

5. Did anyone make an RPG for the system (offical or homemade)

6. Hi I’m new, am I welcome here?

1. Ebay, unless if you (by a rare chance) find a decent one for a good price at a retro game store (then you wouldn’t have to wait for it to be shipped!) as for your other question; of course it is worth getting a Virtual Boy!

2. Flashboy, as VirtualJockey said

3. It sounded quite like many other videos/articles that bash the Virtual Boy; it ranted about “you could become blind”, how its red, how there is a Waterworld game on it and how Waterworld (the movie) was also not a commercial success and the only thing that made it different is that most people don’t say that Jack Bros. “probably isn’t worth jack s**t”

4. VirtualJockey thankfully answered this for me

5. Dragon Hopper (as also VirtualJockey said) is an officially made RPG for the Virtual Boy, but it never was released (and the ROM isn’t in existence online… yet)

6. Of course! (as long as you don’t spam male enhancement links, dating site links and/or other links of that nature)

I agree with morintari, the earlier screen was better!

I believe someone has Dragon Hopper…

…unfortunately that is not me 😛

It seems like VirtualJockey hints at it though! *runs away*

I’m disappointed that the movie can’t be seen in theaters… in red and black!

Don’t worry, they ARE showing it in red and black! They just have a special going on right now that includes the rest of the colors free of charge! But if you don’t want the other (free!) colors, then you can snatch a pair of these for all the red-black glory you can imagine…

I wish I had those glasses…

I would go see this movie, but I know I’m gonna be disappointed when the final fight in the movie isn’t against a vicious cat robot…

He threw it out…………I’m now having a sad Monday in respect for the thrown out ‘broken’ VB lying alone in an antipodean landfill.

I feel the same way!

I’m not sure exactly what I’ll be for Halloween now that you mention it (I have a few ideas but they all seem to be flawed in some matter)

Slightly offtopic: Eventually on one year I will finally have Jack Bros. to play on Halloween… one year…

Oh, when I was a silly newbie poster…

Frank Cifaldi has a piece up on Gamasutra with a nice collection of quotes from popular press regarding the VirtualBoy:

I sorta skimmed through that article, but I did weep a tear when I read the quote that mentions that Yokoi took the Virtual Boy’s commercial failure quite personally

And, the big thing – the “lose the girl or lose the system” thing was a throwaway line that wasn’t meant to be taken seriously! Seriously, does anyone on here watch the show regularly? It’s what EVERY GUY says that is selling something. There were more scenes filmed regarding this line (hell, it practically became a subplot) but that was the only reference that remained.

Ok then… I am just really touchy on subjects like that 😛

I once read on a different VB site that someone tried to do that, but their girlfriend did not want to 😛

PVB is very hilarious today!

Also… how come you list wine, party, beach and sex but not “playing the Virtual Boy”? surely one can do that in Barcelona! 😛

If I existed back in 1995 and I were at least 7 years old, I would’ve wanted/saved up for a Virtual Boy!

But VB games have apparently always had descriptive names. Perhaps this is because by knowing which games were available for the system, one could also tell which genres were available; a marketing decision.

Some people thought that Mario Clash wouldn’t be a Mario Bros. remake, but rather a whole different kind of Mario game though…

I don’t know Insect Combat was an unreleased game ???

Insect Combat isn’t an unreleased game, it is a homebrew game

Is it bad I still like “Insect Combat” as a name?

This topic is a bit funny to me since Planet 3DS has been mentioned a lot on here lately… no offense 😛
