It is the cap of the Nintendo Co. game machine “virtual boy” which is sold in 1995. On the front the virtual boy, in the back the Nintendo Co. logograph is embroidered in the deficit. The game machine of the 3D image which the dying/fleeing coming Yokoi troop flat person devises anticipated age too much, sale was not considerable and disappeared. . . Color: Black. It is the unused item, but the rust has appeared in the rear adjuster metallic parts. Cotton 100 percent.
Fun fact: “Gunpei” is sometimes mistranslated as “troop flat”

Non Category items such as Virtual Lab, Space invaders and Virtual bowling will definitely be flagged (The UPC code lists the item as a GPS device!). I am not a fan of this new catalog system, it only hinders rare game sales.
That reminds me of that time we all realized the FlashBoy’s UPC code is actually for a car part!
I don’t think this thread should be closed, as there are still Yahoo! Japan auctions…
You know what could happen now?
Some people could find their Virtual Boy and games for it, want to list it on ebay because they don’t know what other place would take it (Gamestop does NOT take VB items), realize they CAN’T, and… some might just throw said Virtual Boy and its games away! meaning less Virtual Boys and Virtual Boy games! 🙁
How will I ever get every game for this brilliant console now?! ebay is my #1 choice because it offers specifics (box is in great shape, game works perfectly, etc.), photos, a variety of VB games that I could probably have only a 00.01% random crazy chance to find in a real-life store and feedback telling me if I’m buying from a good source…
I will treasure my Virtual Boy even more now!
(Hopefully someone will convince ebay to allow some things with the word “Virtual”?)
Finally, another way we can support this awesome site! 😀
I’ve wondered something…
How can one translate Japanese characters that have tiny other Japanese characters above them? How does that work?
Nice magazine!
Also it is funny how you make it sound like Insect Combat is being made by a completely different guy than yourself 😛
I’d be more afraid of breaking the spinning mirrors if I played it like that than the visor tearing!
Today (August 14th), in 1995, was the day the Virtual Boy was released in the US! 😀
Only for Japanese-only games? what about the Japanese versions of games that also released in the US but might have a different thing said on the box and/or manual?

“the VB has since become something of a collector’s item, much to the annoyance of those of us who didn’t grab a truckload of the things when they were marked down to fifteen bucks”It looks like the author is trying to add to his own Virtual Boy collection and is discouraged at some of the prices for some of the games… a problem that we all share. 🙂
I thought that quote meant “I wish I bought a truckload of VB games for fifteen bucks so later when it became a collector’s item, I could sell them on ebay for about twenty to forty bucks”

Thats my b’day its out on, I’d not say no if you felt inclined to get me one and send it over, my wife then won’t have bragging rights as she has the red/black DS we got when over in the US and I just have my faithful old black one, and the grey brick.
Unfortunately, I don’t even have the money to get myself a 3DS and I doubt I could send a 3DS away if I was given one 😛

If I operated an ice-cream truck, I would totally blast that over the P.A. speakers 😀
Would you offer ice cream Chalvos? (Like those Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle or Sonic the Hedgehog ice cream faces some ice cream trucks have!)
I probably won’t go but I’m just curious… is there any age restrictions?

I asked how to pronounce it and I got a response which I thought it was right. It’s obvious that you know more about how to pronounce his name than I do so I’ll try my best to correct it.
My pronunciation is correct *cough* fluent in Japanese for 19 years *cough* used to be a professional translator *cough* taught English as a second language at Virginia Tech *cough*
Does this mean you could translate what is said on the back of Japanese Virtual Boy game boxes? 😮
Yep! I was born in January in the year of 1996!
I read about the Virtual Boy in 2007 (I think that was the year) through small Nintendo-related searches (I think I even came across this site back then!) but in 2009 I really searched up stuff about the Virtual Boy and on one fateful day in December, I read up so much about the Virtual Boy that I said “I think I want one… someday”, and when I fell asleep I had a dream that I found a Virtual Boy and went to test it and I liked it but two people in the dream disliked it so they smashed it and laughed at me for being sad…
…so when I woke up from that dream, I was determined to get a Virtual Boy, and since it was already the month of December, it was the perfect opportunity to get a Virtual Boy!
I was told I could pick something big (that I would know about, but still have small mystery gifts) that would count as a christmas gift to me so… I picked a Virtual Boy 😎
As of now, I currently have 13 games for the Virtual Boy (they all have boxes except the US version of Mario’s Tennis)
Similar to how you want to collect every Mario game, I want to collect every Virtual Boy game!
…sorry for the offtopic discussion I’ve made!
The Wario Land in this auction comes with its (original) receipt! no kidding! and there is pictures to prove it isn’t some retro game store pre-owned stuff receipt, its a Target receipt from 1997!
The sad thing is, it looks like the Virtual Boy in said auction has a slight case of scrambly-screen 🙁

whereas the VB was a curveball, something completely different, just horrendously marketed as a replacement.
The Virtual Boy was never meaning to be a replacement to the Game Boy… Gunpei Yokoi once mentioned that in an interview
That’s really good!
But I’d thought I’d tell you that you misspelled gaming (you added another m) after you mentioned the Flash Boy
I’ve always wanted a Teleroboxer movie… 🙂
EDIT: ok, maybe not “always” as the first thing I did when I was born wasn’t going all hyper-eyed and yelling “I WANT A MOVIE THAT’S LIKE TELEROBOXER! YEAH!” despite being born around a time the VB was still being sold 😉
