OK, fine with me, I just thought that if you guys can make custom carts and link cables it would be possible. But, I didn’t expect it to be possible.

Was that a joke?

Assuming you know something about how to read code, getting a GC toolchain and libraries installed is probably a good first step. devkitPPC is a good choice (it’s likely what the WiiMednafen developer is using). Building and running some kind of GC demo code will make sure all your tools work and libraries are installed.

I think I’m gonna go with option 2, but I don’t have my SD Media Launcher yet so in order to try the demo code I would have to use an emu. Is that OK?

Awesome story! Mines not over yet cause I still can’t afford a vb.

Cool! Maybe someone could make a version that doesn’t require performing a vb surgery. How you ask? With the link cable port. Not sure if possible but I know that in order to do it that way you would need a special homebrew game.

This is all awesome! Maybe, we could get the reality boy team interested and then they would add support for our vb gaming network to the emu! That way vb owners could vs. non vb owners and vice versa!

So where should I start? (If this is gonna be too hard for someone with no dev experience, please say so!)

Thanks! It worked finally. But, unfortunately there’s a few other problems. If you need to do other stuff though thats fine because it still works. Here they are: 1. No Sound! 2. I can’t scale the screen with the sclscr command.

OK, I tried both commands, and the first one gave the same error as before, and the second one claimed I didn’t have the permission to modify the usr/bin folder. I’m thinking the second one will work if I can gain permission somehow, but Ubuntu either has no root user or it hides it well!

Yeah, I already did contact him, but if the current adapter needs work before being able to connect a vb controller, then why not just have him do it?

OK, cool! I’ll pay $50 if I have to!

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to do this?

Well, right now I’m working on turning my Gamecube into the ultimate gaming hub, and I’ve found emulators for gamecube that emulate almost anything before the cube itself, eg. N64, GBA, SNES. So, I thought it would be cool to use the native controllers with the games too, so I found adapters for N64, and SNES. But, I can’t find an emulator or controller adapter for VB. So, I need help.

Would it be easy to port this to GameCube? Because I would love to have a GCN version!

Oh great. Now I look like a fool. I just found the picture in vb cameos.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll try that, but don’t get your hopes up!

I’m sorry, but the emulator won’t be released until I get a better computer.

Does anyone know of a Famicom emulator that is capable of displaying Famicom 3D System capable games?

Thanks for the advice, but I have a few problems.

1: I can’t afford the Windows C Dev Kit, or whatever it’s called. That’s why I need something in Visual Basic, because it’s free.

2: I tried running Mednafen, but all I could see it do was add a few directories to it’s folder. No window was displayed. Is it supposed to be like this? I’m curious to know what I’m competing with.

But that’s OK, because my basic goal is to make all Nintendo games, new and old, available in 3D. So I’ll just look for a GBC emulator instead!

I would prefer $50 USD or cheaper.

I have to let you know that they weren’t emails, they were PMs. 🙂
