i like the 2d games, kind of for the same reason you like the vector games. the 3d effect is wasted on me, since i’m primarily blind in one eye, so those games don’t really offer much. im a real die-hard, huh? i cant even see in 3d and i love this system.

i was going to buy a new VB on ebay just to take the shade, since mine was ruined, but someone was selling a shade on its own. it was a little cheaper than an entire VB, but i also saved like $10 on the shipping, since the systems are so big.

so yeah, check ebay.

There’s also value attached to being able to being in the elite group of collectors who own the game, which would be even more valuable when they’re the only ones who can play the game.

That is true, but it is kind of strange. Watch King of Kong to get a good idea of what that can be like.

I just said that releasing the ROMs will drop the price vs. not releasing them.

I don’t think in the case of virtual boy that there is a strong enough correlation to worry about it. The price of VB games has dwindled over the years, and not just on games that have roms in open circulation. The price of systems, accessories, and the four rare games have plummeted. If anyone is holding on to anything in order to sit on some money, instead of just loving the product, they are going to get a harsh wake up call one day.

But you’re right… this thread is pointless because collectors will do what they want, and I don’t even think many of the collectors come to these boards.

Very true.

i initially thought this wasn’t worth the reply, but i’m interested in your logic, or the lack thereof. how, exactly, would that be dumb? i can certainly see how it would not be dumb, but i am having a hard time conceptualizing anything pertaining to the opposite.

I dont think they are hiding the virtual boy form the public, and I do think they will eventually have the games on virtual console.

Why would you want it on the Virtual Console? Noob.

because its better than not having it at all.

maybe if we combined our money they would go for it.

its probably best to wait. i have a hunch that nintendo will be releasing some VB games on virtual console, and who knows, dragon hopper could be one of them.

my roommate is so jealous of mine. he wanted one and preordered one, but he forgot about it and missed his chance. i’ll tell him to hop on for the next batch now that i know there will be one.

it sucks that the only video doesn’t even have any action in it…i seriously would pay $5000 for that game. hell, I’d pay that for a dump of it that i can play on the flash boy or emulator. Seriously, if anyone has it and wants $5000 for a dump, let me know.

if i had made the game i would want it to leak out so people could enjoy my hard work. its like an artist that never gets to show his work…its sad.

as for dragon hopper. are there any videos of it anywhere?

Are we sure anyone even owns these proto-types we talk about? I’ve been doing a lot of searching on the internet and have yet to run across anything indicating that somebody owns one of the highly desired games such as Bound High, Zero Racers, etc.

For all we know they are either tucked away somewhere in Nintendo’s secret archives or were simply lost in time.

They are definately out there, there are a few people on this site that have the bound high source code

Well now that is definitely pretty cool… but something in a more playable form would be even better. 😐

someone must have a playable version somewhere.

i would love to see some dragon hopper footage. or even some nicer screen shots.

i would pay so much for dragon hopper. god, i wish i could play that game.

hmm. now if only someone was up to the challenge…i would do it, but i have no idea how.

it looks nice, but doesn’t really scream ‘virtual boy’ like the old site did.

god, i wish this game would surface. i’d trade anything i had.

you should also host a game idea contest to get some creativity out there.

I never got one.

i cant get that thing to run any games anyway.

they have the same head, right?

looks like it might be long enough.
