…Any idea if the old GC points/stars are still usable?
There are a few (new) GC games I was thinking of getting, and am wondering if I can still use the points for something (IIRC you could et better forum access with them or something).
Yes, mine currently has its minimum ROM size set to 512KB, as I thought thats the size most people would be using. I had planned for an INI file which would let you change it but that didn’t happen in time for v1.00. I’m hoping to include it in a later version.
As for the header information, ISX2ROM first writes the header you specified to the blank ROM, then writes the ISX data to it. This means that if the ISX file has its own header info it will overwrite the one you specified.
All I did was buy a cheap 3rd party USA SNES AC adapter, then chop the plug/cable off of it and find a 10V DC local adapter (a Sega one of all things) and put the matching socket for that adapter on the USA cable.
As cool as it’d be to get dumps this way, I would hold my hopes up. I hate collectors who hold onto stuff and wont share. Part of me hopes they get bitrot.
Saying that, I’d be more than happy to put up $100 (or more) if we had a confirmation that it’d mean we’d get a copy of BH/DH/whatever.
…This kickstarter thing, if it doesn’t eventuate do we get our money back, or does whoever sets up the program flee with all our cash?
I use an old cardboard box from a 40pk of 3.5″ floppies I got years ago. Its still holding up and stores all my carts (until I finish my collection). 😉
Have you considered opening it up and inspecting the cable joins? You may be lucky and just have a loose connection, otherwise you may be able to remove the plug form the cable and replace the cable with a working one.
You can use almost any 9V/10V DC adaptor.
The problem is the Tap uses the proprietry huge connector.
Your best bet is getting a USA/JPN adaptor, cutting the lead/plug off and connecting it to a ~9VDC supply. That, or some creative rewiring on the VB/Tap.
It depends on what you like. Marios Tennis is usually fun to pick up & play.
Wario Land is a definite if you like Mario/Wario adventure games.
I’ve never been much of a Telero fan, but others seem to like it.
Nesters Funky Bowling if also good, however harder to get.
I guess my favourite would be the puzzle games like Panic Bomber, V-Tetris and to an extent 3D Tetris.
Theres also Virtual League Baseball, but if you don’t like Golf/sports games then maybe its not for you.
Probably some others I can’t remember. Look at the main website for a complete list of VB games, however some of those games are rare/impossible to find.
You probably got one of those rare customer service people who actually likes the company they work for, and even more amazing likes VB _and_ knows about the community still supporting it. :woah:
