Well, he did mention that he’s willing to pass his code onto someone who will finish it… 😉

5 years ago I doubt I even knew what a Virtual Boy was… 🙁

I’ll vouch for DogP. Its that lameboyadvance character you’ll need to look out for. 😛

I (stupidly) bought my first Vb stuff through online stores. I only did so because back then I didn’t even have a credit/debit card, and eBay didn’t support international bank accounts.
I ended up paying though the nose. The only place I would suggest is eBay.

As for Jap games, Yahoo! Auctions Japan is the best bet. Use a bid agent such as Rinkya to bid on their auctions. You have to pay fees to the bid agents, but you get to bid on all the Jap crap you could ever want!

There is no region. This isn’t a DVD player… 😛

…As with all Game Boy/Color/Advance/DS games, they will work on all versions of the console.

Just make sure you get some decent brand name, high capacity batteries.
Using some $2 noname batteries won’t get you far.

…If in doubt, use rechargables.

Give us a year or 5… 😉

No, unfortunately. 🙁
The VB uses a bunch of red LEDs to create the image, and these LEDS are too small to desolder and swap with other colours, unless you feel like going through a lot of trouble to do so… 😉

…Theres always the “demand outweighs quantity” argument. 😉

/me W00Ts even later 😛

…Though I’d love some cash as well.

*runs away with it to buy more games* 😉

Well, I would recommend my, DogP’s or Runnerpack’s sites, however we all seem to have dropped off the net for the moment… 🙁

I believe PVB should have the software needed, as well as some basic demos to start off with…

…Which game is this again? 😕

For that price I’m better off buying on of the $200 visors available on eBay (which I was eventually planning to do) and spending the $600 left over on enhancing my VB collection.

😉

Just find 6xAA (or maybe even a 9V battery) and connect them to the VB to test it. 😉

I’ve actually replaced my screws with phillips heads. Problem is I can’t remember what size they were. They came in some large pack, either 20, 50 or 100. Got them at the local hardware shop so they should be easily available.
I’ll have to try and find the box they came in…

If you’ll look at previous posts in this forum, you notice that this has already been covered many times.

Only if you do ours for free. 😛

But yeah, people may be willing to pay cash to have their unusable VBs repaired.
…But then again, if they sell them cheap because they think they’re faulty, more reason to buy them, fix them and resell them at a profit. 😉

I’m sure I remember reading about someone who had a display stand missing inserts, but I can’t for the life of me remember who it was… >:( 😐 🙁 🙂

😛

I don’t know whats worse, the fact that there is a hardcase version I never knew about, or the fact you got it for $20. 🙁

…Oh well, nice find!

I meant taking the cart connector off the old cart board, and soldering it to a new board which would then fit inside the existing cart casing.
