I saw some footage on youtube and it looks incredible! I wish my VB was in working order so I could try this out. I was blown away by the sound quality. The sprites look lovely too!

I can’t remember either of those off the top of my head. It seems they failed to make a lasting impression on me! 😉
As for my favourite music its from the first level of Vertical Force. Its the first game I played when I got my VB so its also the first music I heard on the system 😀

Heh ohhhh ok. I just wanted to test some MIDI files out on the hardware. Do you happen to know if Reason’s MIDI files will play on the VB? If not, could you reccomend a decent (or possibly free) sequencer thats compatible? Thanks in advance!

Sorry for being such a n00b, but how do I embed the midi file into the rom?

Looks good 🙂 So I’m guessing this was just an exercise to get you used to drawing animating sprites and isn’t a hint that maybe you’ll port Chrono Trigger to VB? Just kidding 😛

Thanks for the hasty reply, DogP. I can now use the padder. Heh, I knew it must have been something really simple.

I’m probably being really stupid here but I can’t get the padder to work. Where do I drag and drop the file to? I’ve tried to drag and drop it into the padder application window, but it says it can’t be dropped there (the cursor changes to a no entry sign). I’ve also tried dragging and dropping it onto a folder, but all it does then is copy the file to that folder. The file is the same size and hasn’t been renamed or anything.

Again, please forgive my stupidity. I’m sure there is something very obvious that I’m not getting here 😛

I’d suggest you PM DogP. Even if he can’t repair it himself, I’m sure he’ll be able to talk you through the procedure in a way you can understand. He’s pretty helpful 😉

<--------- That's me. We should be careful about posting pics of ourselves playing VB. They could appear on some crazy fetish site or something! :-o

Must be really frustrating for you 🙁 All I can suggest is that you try to get hold of a battery pack or another controller. I had issues with my VB randomly turning off a while back and it turns out the controller was to blame. Hope you find a solution!

Hmmm how strange. Did you try it with regular batteries or have you just tried it with the AC adaptor so far? Also, try turning it on again and listen quietly for a humming sound coming from the VB. If you can’t hear anything then its either the VB itself or the controller thats broken.

Ahh man.. I wish I had a flashboy to try this out on. Could someone please make videos of the game in action? I’d be really interested to see it 🙂

Wow, Jogreche. That looks absolutely amazing! I’m so excited to see how all the projects turn out. Keep up the good work guys! 😀

For me it is a combination of nostalgia and admiration for the technology inside the thing. I first heard about the VB on a british game show called Bad Influence when I was around 8. I thought it looked absolutely amazing and really wanted one but obviously the VB never made its way over here so I kind of forgot about it until 2005 when I was bored and decided to do a random ebay search. I’ve never looked back 😉

Yeah he is funny, but the review itself is at least questionable. I think Teleroboxer is definitely not a better game than the phantastic Galactic Pinball. Also I think that the nerd has some problems with his eyes as he is wearing glasses. So maybe that´s one of the reason why his eyes hurt when using the Virtual Boy.

I think he meant that Teleroboxer uses the ‘virtual reality’ aspect of the VB better than Galactic Pinball. Don’t get me wrong, GP is a good game but theres no reason why it couldn’t have come out on the SNES or any other platform. You could say the same for the vast majority of the VB’s game library.

Ok, so Link starts off as a simple village boy. One day a spirit visits him in his sleep, telling him a beautiful princess is trapped in a castle by an evil force, and only three emblems will be able to free her. Each emblem is in a dungeon. Once you get the emblems and head to the castle, the evil gannon opens a portal to another dimension (the third dimesion ;-)) and you have to go after her. Something like that maybe?

The story? its zelda! Zelda gets kidnapped. Rescue ensues. dungeons. bosses. weapons… :p

It would be nice to have Link on the VB. Would you make your own zelda game or port A Link to the Past or something else? Just curious 😉

Apparently some third parties have already expressed interest in utilizing the tech, so we may actually see some Wii games come out using this tech 😀 It won’t take much to do… They could probably bundle some free glasses with the game. Kinda like how you got a free steering wheel with that seriously bad racing game 😛

I’m glad someone wants to see Starfox VB as much as me, Fwirt 😀 I’d really like to help in making this a reality. Could someone please give me info on what skills I need to learn to help with this?
