Heh =) Dude, I seriously know how you feel. I spent like 2 hours fighting this guy! Its all worth it though. The music on the credits kicks ass ^_^

Thanks for the offer Andy, but I think I can survive with my oh-so-simple headstrap. I made it out of an old guitar strap and superglue. Heh =)

It may not be the world’s worst game, but it has a pretty bad reputation on the net. I couldn’t find a review that said anything about the game that interested me.
Though, saying that Insomouse No Yakata has got bad reviews, but I still really want it heh. Slightly hypcritical? ^_^

Heh… I’ve yet to play waterworld. I might buy it just so I can have the novelty of owning the world’s worst game ^_^ I’ll keep my eye out for 3-D tetris. If anyone is willing to sell it to me, please email me at manicfoot4@ntlworld.com =)

If you’re thinking of getting the Japan-only games, I highly reccomend Space Squash. Its one of the best VB games and its very addictive and I managed to get it very cheaply. I got it for £26 off ebay =)

I’ve done that as well. Its pretty cool in the dark, but I really feel the need to play the VB how it was meant to be: strapped onto your head.
I’ve made my own headstrap now, but its not very good. All I did was get an old guitar strap and glue it onto the sides of the VB =/
I agree with you, David. Its such a shame that the VB was way ahead of its time and didn’t get the support it deserved. But I try not to let the lack of support and games reflect my judgement of the console. Its still amazing ^_^

I meant that its efficient in terms of power consumption. I play my VB atleast once a day and I change the batteries monthly. I think thats quite impressive.
I agree that the stand is pretty poor, but the VB wasn’t intentionally designed that way, was it? Isn’t it true that they only made the stand because they thought people would walk into things if it was strapped onto the head?
Lamp-O-Tron’s look pretty cool. Unfortunately, I’m a complete retard and can’t make one for myself. I did make a headstrap today though. Its pretty cool but it does make me feel really dizzy and nauseous. Especially if I move my head. Is this normal? I hope I can get over it, because Red Alarm looks damn good when playing it with a headstrap…

I see your point. Personally, I think we should re-make the virtual boy since nintendo don’t seem to want to.
I disagree with you saying the virtual boy was badly made, though. I think it is a good piece of workmanship in both design and efficiency. I’ve only had my vb for a few months but it still works perfectly. You have to consider the experimental nature of the console as well. I mean, it is pretty impressive that they even managed to last this long without messing up…

Dude, of course its illegal, but its not not like we’re doing any real harm to nintendo by downloading roms of really rare games. Nintendo don’t even lose any money from it because its not them selling the games anymore.
I don’t see whats wrong with downloading roms of games you already have either. You’ve already bought the game, so what exactly is wrong with downloading a rom? Theres no other way of experiencing VB games on a PC. Again, its not like Nintendo is losing any money…
I agree that it is piracy, but personally I dont think it matters in the VB’s case. If you emulate games that still sell in the shops, like Xbox/PS2/whatever, then yes, that is wrong. Its not like nintendo even care about the VB anyway. If they didn’t pull the plug on the console so early, then maybe we wouldn’t be forced to get roms to play the rare games.

Heh, ok then. I won’t bother getting this pile of crap. I’ve not heard a good thing about it. I think I’ll wait for Mario VB/Doom VB if they evert start happening ^_^

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. Quite a lot of the megadrive games are considered classics as well. Also, look at Super Mario World on the gameboy, that was one of the launch games for the GB, right? :-\ It just seems weird to me that the launch games for the VB are as short as they are.

I’d like to buy one as well =)

This looks SO exciting. Seriously. I’m sat here fucking grinning imagining a full-length mario platformer on the VB heh. Any updates on how the project is coming along? All my friends think the VB sucks (ignorant fools). I think a Mario game would sway their opinion slightly 😉

Thanks Opeth. Thats really helped. I’d only spend that much money on a game if it was good =/ Heh.

Heh… If you say so ^_^ I just wanted to know what you guys thought of it because theres no reviews for it on the site. The video of it looked kinda cool, but I think I’ll leave it for now =/

Yeah, I know it’s just a fantasy. The VB was ahead of it’s time though. I think if Nintendo re-made it it would do incredibly well. To be honest I think playing games on a tv is becoming stale. VR should be the future and Nintendo should be the ones to do it since they made the VB.
As for Sony, I don’t particularly like them. They seem unoriginal to me. The PSP is great, but it’s basically a portable PS2. Don’t get me wrong, it is very impressive technically but it isn’t really original. Besides, I’m still bitter about Sony pushing Sega out of the console business =P

I love this site. Full of reviews of all the games (I mostly agree with your opinions) and loads of facts on how to customise your virtual boy. You guys must love the system as much as I do! I’ve had my VB for about 2 months now. I have a DS and a PSP as well but the VB impresses me more than BOTH of them. It truely is a unique experience.
I’m in the process of hunting down all the good games. So far I have Jack Bros, Panic Bomber, Golf, Baseball ’95, Wario Land, Mario Tennis, Teleroboxer and Red Alarm and Mario clash are on their way from the US 🙂 This site really is the best thing for VB fans ever. Thank you 🙂
