So….. does this open the door for Virtual Boy games on 3DS 😛 ?
I’ve been wondering how games like Teleroboxer and Red Alarm would play on the 3DS since the button layouts of a 3DS and Virtual Boy controller are rather different.
I like the sharpness of the graphics on the system as well as the amount of fun games it has for a console with only 22 games for it. The system also has one of my favorite controllers too.
What I’m not a fan of is the internal design of the console. How the system makes the 3D image is cool, but it seems very fragile (not that I plan on dropping the console) and the ribbon cable things that cause the glitchy display should’ve been either clipped on or soldered on rather than glued on to make a better, long lasting connection.
I thought it was more coincidental. The level itself was really fun though and I played as Peach to sort of add insult to injury to Bowser when I completed the level.
Virtual Boy games I own:
-Virtual Boy Wario Land
-Red Alarm
-Teleroboxer
-Mario’s Tennis
-Vertical Force (JPN version)
-Panic Bomber
-Virtual League Baseball
Manuals:
-Virtual Boy
-Red Alarm
-Mario’s Tennis
-Virtual League Baseball
System:
-Virtual Boy console with controller
-Eyeshade
-Stand
-1 dust cover
-AC Adaptor
-Battery Pack
A Mega Man game would be fun for the Virtual Boy. Like a fan made game, a port of the Game Boy or NES games, or maybe an improved version of the Wonderswan game Rockman & Forte: Challengers from the Future.
Other ideas could be an adventure game like Castlevania or Metroid and a game like Gunstar Heroes that has multiple gameplay styles: run and gun, vertical shooter, and horizontal shooter. Something along the lines of a Super Game Boy/Game Boy Player/PS Vita TV for the Virtual Boy would be awesome too.
Tried to play my Virtual Boy today and the left image was glitchy. Just curious, how much would it cost to get someone to repair/fix the system? I’d fix it, but I have no experience tinkering with the inner workings of the Virtual Boy and I don’t want to damage anything.
