Hey I was checking out Ryan’s site and it looks like he is about to release an update image for the rpi2 for the Porta Pi. Hopefully this will be a decent boost in performance. I like the support he does for his system.
Hey man, are you still playing your mini arcade? I need an update on how well the controls are on the Porta Pi and do you notice a significant difference in the rPi 2 compared to rPi B?
I thought with the pi2 you get a download of windows 10 developer edition. So i figured any emulators for windows would work just maybe not that well. I know Saturn will run (though not well on the rpi b (it may of been a special mod emulator). And now that I’m thinking about it I remember there were certain settings for the n64 emulator that you had to toggle for certain games, apparently this made a world of difference in performance. You may have to Google it but n64 runs very well on pi2 and I remember Mario 64 and Star fox specifically. So don’t give up on the n64 you just need to tweak it.
BTW I’m saving my money and being extra nice to the wife in hopes of getting a mini arcade. Wish me luck (I just got the Flash Boy a couple of weeks ago)
Cool I take it the Pi 2 image is updated and working. Man let me know how well it runs the n64 emulation (been wanting to play a decent version of Blast Corp.) Also if you get a chance, see if it can do the Sega Saturn at all. I’m not expecting much from Saturn emulation because of Sega’s hardware in that particular system but I am curious if the frame-rate is playable.
Yes! I just got mine last week. I paid $100 shipped. If I were you I’d send an email to Richard. His email is- the first post in this thread. Its well worth the price, the community on here are all very supportive and have been very helpful. When you get it check out the Hyper Fighting Demo, it really showcases the system.
Thank you MK for the emulator! I just played Galaga on my Virtual Boy in 3D. If anyone is a fan of Galaga then do yourself a favor and go check it out. It plays well on the system. I know this thread hasn’t been updated in a while but MK are you still supporting this emulator? (don’t know if there’s much more you can do with it but just wondering if Street Fighter 2 could be made playable(for those of us who weren’t able to get a copy of Hyper Fighting)Hey something is better then nothing. That looks great!!! I’m looking into getting the PI 2 Its a quad core with 1gig of ram. (Just as soon as I can find them in stock. I was thinking about doing the handheld emulator,but looking at what you’ve done here…..
VB Metroid is something I would love to play! KR155E take a looooong break. Cause your talent’s along with all the others who know how to write code for our 3d system are sorely needed. Thanks for all who keep this site on the map.
Oh man you got it made, I dont know what I would do not worrying about “that time of the month” and trying to stay on her “good side” when we all know there isn’t one when its “that time”. Anyway getting back to the “evergreen”. When the Dreamcast came out and you could go on it with the web browser (remember that thing 56k modem). My screen name was “Tokemon”)read Toke-e-mon. Speedy I’m sure it will be great!!! Never count the “no children policy” though, when her friends start having them and your one particular friend who thought children are the spawn of hell has one and is actually good at being a dad, then that’s when you may start thinking of having a Speedy Jr. BTW we didn’t have our son till I was 36 so never say never (and I always said never). Your smart knowing your significant other a long time first. I think that’s why my wife is cool about me having more toys then ToysRUs.
Emulation I think would be the easiest way to post on YouTube, seeing how after one gets married nothing is easy anymore I mean heck you wouldn’t think the toilet seat could cause such a ruckus <--(parent talk) oh but it does. I'm not trying to scare you out of it, but I'm just saying after 14years of marriage I myself am bald, overweight and I had to give up the "green leaf" for green tea and I won't even start on parenthood. Ok…. Good, problem solved. So speedy what VB games do you have up your sleeve for your next review (any rare roms we need to know about)? I gotta have something to watch while waiting on my Flash Boy Plus.
Also I gotta give it up to 3DBoyColor, I would’ve never thought about slowing down the shutter speed.
