It’s 0.6mm FR4, which is glass-reinforced epoxy laminate.

It looks a bit unusual because the solder mask is dark blue.

Hey all you uber-collectors, our dump-o-matic™ is at your disposal.

Contact Eric if you need your super rare carts dumping (please) 🙂

ABS I would think.

I’ve been making some cases in PLA on my 3D printer.

I’m afraid there’s no easy way to do it. If you use hot air it tends to damage the plastic.

I got my technique from Kriss (when he was helping me). I use a chisel tip on my soldering iron and just push it underneath each pin. I had to sharpen the tip to make it easier.

i know some people do a ‘donate 2 carts & you get the game free’ deal.

That’s when I was naive. Look how that turned out 🙁

I have no idea if this is technically possible. It is not like you can simply flash two VirtualBoy games on one card.

Both ROM’s together should be under 2MBytes. So, couldn’t you put in an option screen that lets you decide which version to run (when you first boot the cart) ?

I’m 100% sure there is an ‘inner circle’ and that it has at least 2 members from this site.

but there’s more going on behind the scenes than just getting cash back into bigmak’s pocket.

Like what ?

There’s no ‘behind the scenes’

Is that to keep the whole thing legit?

It’s legit anyway, as it doesn’t contain commercial ROM’s until the user decides to put one on there.

The cart contains just 2MByte flash, so yes, you are limited to loading one game onto it at a time.

Hi Martijn, how’s your VB game going ?

What should I have done?

Waited until we’d released FaceBall first. That would have been the polite thing to do, considering Eric dropped $16K for it.

WOW ! nice work

If it makes a card release I want it to sell for the lowest price possible

It will cost me at least double to make this cart as it needs SRAM.

I’ve built carts for other systems and these are by far the hardest / most time consuming to build. No other repro involves having to buy other carts and meticulously remove the connectors prior to building.

I really hate it when that happens.

Anyway, I’m glad you like the cart.

AAMOI how much did you pay for the FlashBoy ?

I can’t tell if the quality is high enough for a card release.

It most definitely is !

I’m willing to make some repros, but it won’t be for a while. I’ve got a list to work through first (including ‘the big one’).

It’s one of the 50 prototype game for USA ever made.

That is a lie.

There’s already more than 50 out there. Plus I’ve spent all today working on another 50.

Wow… with all the attention, these things should sell out in no time.

Or, we definitely get shut down.
