I’ll say it again. If you want a cart, please Email me via my page.

Also, can everyone agree on a label. I can then print and apply them to the carts before I send them out.

Thanks

Though a quick question; can I assume by wanting the donor carts “shell”, the PCB won’t be needed or am I wrong in assuming that?

I’ll be using just the connector and shell. The PCB is of no use.

I think Richard would re-flash the existing chips with the bound high rom

Not possible. The chips in the original carts are ROM. You cannot write to them.

You’re right about me using FlashBoy PCB’s. I’ll be using them with just the FLASH memory soldered on (and a capacitor).

have you thought about designing a label for the carts?

I’m not good at art. But if someone else designs one, I’ll label the cart with it.

It’d also be good if folk could remove the labels before sending the donor carts. It’s so hard removing some of the old ‘baked on’ one’s.

since you mentioned FlashBoys, how much do you charge to make those?

$100 + donor cart

It’d be really convenient if I could just send one cartridge for Bound High, another for a FlashBoy

I can do that. Although, why would you want a dedicated Bound High cart, when you can play it on the FlashBoy ?

Do the carts need dust caps?

No

I’m rather interested in picking a few of these up.

I’m limiting it to one per person, with folk on here getting first priority. I’ll probably make about 30 in total.

If I see one go on EBay, I won’t make any more >:(

Will you be asking for money to cover the cost of shipping back to us?

I’ll have to see how expensive it is.

If there could be a cart sticker and box made

No box. There wasn’t even going to be a label 😉

will it go on as long as someone can send you two donor carts or is it a limited time offer?

I’ll save you one 🙂

This is a great plan and offer to the community, VERY nice!

It’s good for me too. I get to stock up on donor carts and the community gets to play a great game cheaply.

Anyway, please Email me via the link on my page below.

Thanks

It’s excellent  – definitely your best review yet. Oh, and thanks for mentioning the FlashBoy 🙂

I did think about making BoundHigh carts, but I don’t know the legal implications in doing so.

What? So, the flashboy(original, not plus for me) will stop working after I’ve changed games once too much?? Thats…. really scary.

The specs for the flash memory say at least 1 million writes / erases.

I’d love a flashboy for this. There was one on eBay a few days ago but I missed out on it 🙁

I make those carts, and will be doing continuously while there’s demand.

You could send the 3D file to one of these places –

I’m pretty sure I’ve discovered the problem. I recently bought some CR1225’s in bulk and they were held down to the tray with clear tape.

This left a residue on the top (+) side of the battery, which seems to be enough to intermittently disconnect the power from the SRAM (and hence erase the game-save). I now clean them with acetone.

The battery holder from sparkfun is very similar. Only I use the surface mount version.

If you don’t mind sending it to the UK, I’ll fix it for you.

Don’t buy one then. It’s your choice.

Last time I checked $ did not mean euro or pounds -_-

Instead of spending your time just adding snidey remarks to posts, why don’t you actually contribute something to the community ?

Write a game / make some hardware etc

I am sitting on tons of donor carts

Hang on to them, they may be needed for Vaughanabe13’s cart.

and box prints.

I never saw the point of having a box. I don’t supply one with my other carts. But if folks really do want one (so they can get $455 on EBay) they can always buy direct from you.

No box is one thing but no CD with the software either?

The latest driver is available from my page – http://www.vectrex.biz

Everything else that was on the CD, can be obtained here.

It is what it is

Hey, I don’t see your cart anywhere 😛

How’s it going ?

Chris makes the boxes. He has them printed at a printers and then assembles them himself. I may be needing some labels for a Vectrex cart I make. I could perhaps do you a deal for a FlashBoy+ if you want ?

I was just looking at your circuit and you haven’t connected –

RS_in (55) to RS_out (57)
LS_in (56) to LS_out (58)

You won’t get any sound.

All revisions prior to the final version where done with the Eagle router. I decided to buy Electra when Eagle was failing / taking forever.

It’s also cheaper to manufacture if there’s less vias.

using the auto-router… all the ones that I’ve used have sucked, and even if they do route, they look like crap 😉

Doesn’t really matter what it looks like as long as it’s all connected up.

If you spend some time tweaking the settings you can get very close to the look of a hand routed board. Electra can be made do some really neat bus routing.

Well, it’s safe to say this is the single hardest 2-layer PCB I have ever made

You are a masochist. I could have put it through my copy of Electra for you.

Put it through Electra. I’ve never had a layout it couldn’t handle.

OK, another batch it is. I just needed to be sure before I bought all the components. It’s a big layout of cash for me if the carts weren’t going to be sold. I don’t know how many folk are still left on the pre-order list (I’ll ask Chris), but I will try and get another 50 made in the next couple of months.
