Could someone send me an old cable ?. I have a cutting plotter here which I use for vinyl etc and some sheets of self-adhesive copper foil for making flexible circuits. I think I might be able to make some display cables using it.
what kind of chips do you use for storage?
Intel nand?
Yes, but I’m swapping over to AMD when I run out of the current PCB’s. Been having a bit of trouble with the second batch of chips, fortunately the broker exchanges the bad one’s for good.
Which means, I will be able to finish the batch of 50 (the other 20) I promised Chris, in the next week or so. Then, there will be a delay while I re-design the boards and get them made (and also Chris has commitments with exams). But like Chris said before, the 50 will more than cover the pre-order list as it stands now.
I haven’t a lot of time to work on the loader at the moment, but I have done a quick fix to make the file select pane wider –
If it wasn’t for Chris doing the connectors and casing etc, I would’nt have made more than a couple of carts. There’s just so much involved in getting them made, and it’s all done ‘in-house’ as they say.
How did you make the cart, was there a limited run of Blox PCB’s ?
BTW if anyone wants to distribute a VB game, the FlashBoy PCB can be used with just the Flash. And I have a batch of about 50 chips which would be suitable for this (but not the FB).
But the flashing utility which (I think) DogP developed does this automatically.
Pat wrote the padder, it detects and automatically pads files < 16MBit. It works really well and takes only seconds to prep all your commercial ROM's in one go.
Homebrew files will load a bit differently, with only portions of the flash written to (due to the small size). This speeds up loading to only a few seconds for some files.
