The screws were all seized, and i had those cheap jewelry screwdrivers with slim metalic handles, with damaged head. I guess that my poor motor skills were not in my favor neither. I always find a way to skip a turn, even with the gamebit screws =/.

I guess i’ll just exchange one of the board screw with the striped one, which i can still screw with bigger phillips screwdriver… And strenght…

I’ve already ask TheForce for his price, but oversea shipping is a bit dear. I’m waiting for HP’s answer! That’s a bummer you don’t do them anymore. For what i’ve seen on youtube, your work looks incredibly good!

Sorry. I wanted to modify my post and haven’t found how.

The screw i’m talking is not a #4 1/2inch. It’s 1/4inch long…

Thank you!
I’ll try them tomorrow

Also, it doesn’t matter what heat-source you use, the “oven trick” is temporary and none-too-good for the display cable.

I know it’s a temporary solution (Only 4month without a glitch), i simply think that a heat gun provides a better control on the heat and how uniform the heat is applied.

You’re way better-off sending those to be soldered.

I’m actualy probing for some prices to get them soldered. Aren’t you back into business?
