I very much agree. Nostalgia is one of the most important factors in a favorite game. Too bad that usually when you aquire a game you havn’t played in a decade, it rarely compares to your rose colored memories of it.

So many systems, so many categories.

Goldeneye 007 N64 is likely my favorite.
Runners up include:
-Pikmin GC
-Intelligent cube ps1
-Kid Icarus NES
-GTA San Andreas Xbox
-NiGHTS into dreams Sega Saturn
-Balloon fight NES
-Mortal Kombat trilogy ps1
-Space invaders Atari 2600
-Galactic Pinball VB

I’m sure I could revise this list a hundred times, but these are the ones that come to mind at this exact moment.

Space pinball is a longshot, but it does exist. I saw it for sale on ebay maybe 2 months ago. Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s real.

Speaking of ebay, has anyone else noticed the decline in space invaders’ selling price? If it gets dumped, it will probably be worth $70. I think space squash is on the rise, too. I think it is destined to be worth something. Its soo fun.

I think its wonderful. Like the yin and the yang, or like a keychain bottle-opener that says “don’t dink and drive”.

I definitely did not know what the thing was 5 yrs ago.
But yeah, that is the gist of the story i guess. Game informer had a good article about it. Maybe two years ago, in classic GI.

Amazing that I had a N64 at the time, loved video games, but was oblivious to the fact that Nintendo had a 3-D system.

Alright, lets flashback to 1996… I think it’s a good memory. I was graduating (kind of) high school, beer was 8 bucks a case, and the female student body was infinitely more important to me than video games. While all of these profound emotional, physical and chemical changes are occuring in my life, Nintendo is giving birth to two of the v.g. industries’ biggest innovations. ever. The N64 and the eclipsed virtual boy. After my brief, rather myopic, but entirely true description af myself, which one do you think i would choose? Exactly. I was one of those people that completely overlooked the v.b.- i mean, let’s face it- mario 64 was downright entertaining.

Does this thing supposedly convert an existing image to a binocular type image? Or is this just a lame screen that wraps around your face?

Imagine how many units blockbuster is responsible for screwing up. Just think about how their dvd’s are treated and then multiply that by the amount of disrespect the average person has for a rental car. The v.b. is a fragile piece of optical precision that wouldn’t last two hours in John Q. Public’s chee-tos covered, grubby little fingers. I bet half of them ended up in blockbuster’s dumpsters.

A small piece of gameplay advice: Mario Clash has a backwards A & B button configuration. That drives my crazy. In all other Mario games, the button on the right jumps, the button on the left picks up the shells. (not to nit-pick).

O.K. – I don’t want to sound pretentious- especially because I’m new here, but I guess I am an artist. I am sadly 0% programmer, but I think we need as many varieties of opinions as possible to ever see this get off the ground. I guess we all have this strange device in common.
I have in my brain a simple design for a game that would be dismissed by anyone as too basic to work as a game. On any other medium, it would fall short in comparison to flashy big-budget games. The theme of the game is geometry- and as we all know there is only one system that could express this type of game. Only the virtual boy allows for a visual of the x, y, and z axis. I think that it would shine in terms of gameplay, and I think that simplicity is beauty. This game would be a perfect start for someone who can turn it into pixels. I would love to contribute…

Hello. I am new to this brilliant concept and I can only hope to contribute anything that would prove useful. I would donate funds or assist in any way possible to see new games for the most overlooked and unexplored avenue video games have ever taken.

Good luck with this ambitious project!

I would like Gundam, (as a collector) but the only thing that looks cool about the game is the cover art. I wonder who is responsible for driving the cost of that game up so high.

Galactic Pinball-

Cosmic: 41,531,000

UFO: 69,820,000

I would like to say that even though I didn’t take a screenshot, it would be downright pathetic to stretch the truth on such a thing. I spent a lot of time on this game.

We should all be optimistic! The ever-expanding and always dynamic video game universe has no choice but to slowly move towards its ultimate goal of Virtual Reality. While I think we are years away from RCA jacks sticking out of our spinal cords, the natural progression of gaming is to acclimate us first by introducing 3-dimensional gaming. The V.B. was met with resistance by an obstinate public that was not ready for Nintendo’s innovation. It has only delayed the inevitable. We will see some advancement in 3D gaming before we can move on.

Sorry if I sound like i’m trying to act smart.

Does anyone have any insight into why the left side tends to go before the right? I have 6 units that are bad on only the left. 2 units are bad in both, and none are bad in just the right.

On a side note, (not to poke fun at your misfortune) the very nice mono virtual boy made me laugh my ass off.

…still that is probably less annoying than those lines.

Hello everyone. I know there are pros and cons to changing the screws, but this is the perfect replacement screw for anybody interested. I keep them in my personal use V.B. for easy access.

Pan Head – Phillips
4 x 1/2

Hope it saves some trouble.
