I have 2 reviews ready to start on but I can’t start yet because I’ve just moved and don’t have a desk at the new place yet… and I REFUSE to edit with the touch pad!

I’ll go ahead and reveal the games tho:

Review 1(Next): Insmouse no Yakata
Review 2: Virtual Bowling vs Nester’s Funky Bowling (review/comparison)

ETA: some time next week hopefully

Red Alarm uses all buttons…

I don’t think Virtual Fishing is broken or anything, just that it’s boring beyond belief.

A review for Wario Land. It’s positive, but the reviewer is hung up on the fact that it’s on virtual boy. Also he wondered where the 3D effects are, why it doesn’t take advantage of the virtual boys capabilities. I guess he only has one eye, because there is depth, layering, and in the treasure rooms a nice 3D depth effect. Also, there’s the jumping into the background part.
And why does it being on VB and not being fully “virtual reality” somehow take away from the game being good? Megaman 9 is great on the PS3 even though it’s made like a 8-bit NES game. A good game is a good game!

Hah, coincidentally I will be reviewing these two games head-to-head after my next review (Insmouse no Yakata) so you’ll find out my opinions then 🙂

Awesome, been watching your reviews.
When you finally get to Virtual Lab, please don’t forget to mention the 3D breasts. For a game that lacks so much depth, stereoscopic tits apparently weren’t out of the question. 😎

=O! 3D Breasts? Where, and how do I access them?

I’ll be getting to Virtual Lab sooner than you’d think because I’ve planned to review three games at the same time after the bowling ones. The three games I and most others think are the three worst for VB, and decide which truly is worst. Virtual Lab, Virtual Fishing and Waterworld.

Nice review!! What’s the next? Bound High maybe? 🙂

Not yet but it’s definately coming. I’m looking forward to reviewing that game, and when I do, I’ll also take a look at Chalvo 55 and a game on Philips CD-i thats similar to Bound High.

Red Alarm. Enjoy!

Thanks people. Next up: Red Alarm!

Thanks a lot! I thought myself that this one turned out a little less good than the last one… I’ll try to do better next time!

Next review: Space Squash

If this game was complete, I would definately say it’s the best VB homebrew ever made.

Tried the game and it was good. Sure it reminded me of a Colecovision game but if it had been in the contest I’d totally have voted for it. Love platformers 🙂

Wow. Wow. I’m embarassed to say, but I recognize that woman….

Thank you!

The american box I neglected because Mario’s Tennis was never sold separately, I know the box exist though…

The Mario/Mario’s is an error I missed. The extra difficulty settings I remember now reading about here but forgot in the review itself. I need to research more on PVB before writing the script..

Anyway thanks and next up is Space Squash. 🙂

Red Wii (goes great with the Virtual Boy)
Original Gameboy
Xbox 360 Slim 4GB
Playstation 2 (phat)
Philips CD-i

I’m >really< hoping this game gets finished and not abandoned incomplete like almost all other VB homebrew games (except Blox 1&2)...

Yeah, you can adjust the time limit through a ROM hack… but why? I haven’t played it in a while, but I don’t really remember time being a problem with the game. Have you played it enough to get familiar with the maps, or are you just wanting to be able to run through it first time?

DogP

Actually.. I’ve played some more now, passworded to the last levels and got Endings B, C and D. Then I played from the beginning and got to Ending C, with continuing. Ending A is too hard to get. But I guess having more time wouldn’t really help with that. Invincibility would still be nice to fool around with, but… yeah.

I’d still want to know how ips patches are made…

Moved to main VB Forum.

For music without sound effects, the Panic Bomber debug menu contains a sound check. Here’s the patch: http://www.planetvb.com/modules/games/?r009d 🙂

Oh man, this site is so cool!
