Nice to see kotaku giving the Virtual boy some attention today!
Too bad the only attention given is basically, “It’s true that the Virtual Boy sucked, but at least it didn’t cause Nintendo to stop trying new things.”
Oh well…
Happy Birthday Virtual Boy!
I don’t think it’s possible for people to say anything about things like the Virtual Boy, Star Wars prequels or Duke Nukem Forever without taking jabs at it at the same time :/
I think he might mean when will there be a full game like how Jack Bros, Wario Land or Red Alarm were full games. With intro, stages, ending, high scores, modes and so on. And that is probably still a ways off, but come on! Homebrews are made by enthusiastic people programming on their spare time, probably without extensive games development education etc. Personally I think it will happen in the future.
(on a related note, I’m making a second Homebrew Showcase video)
The Virtual Boy and precaution parts look like they were filmed in a VB like how I do it but the Mario part looks just like how NES footage looks, doesn’t look filmed and doesn’t look as crisp as it should on a real VB either, I say fake.
I think I remember this guy. he askes permission to use footage from my reviews or something a good while ago, months at least… it’ll be interesting to see what he came up with.
EDIT: Okay, it was pretty good but a bit of a shame he didn’t like most of the games very much and sounded pretty AVGN-ish with panic bomber, water world and red alarm.
