My favorite is Donkey Kong Country! Because it was my first ever TV-console game and the graphics were addictive somehow :).

Yes, it could be a problem with the controller but it doesn’t have to be.

Have you got a voltag- meter? If so you could measure the voltage comming out of the controller.

Following this diagram you have to connect the + side to pin 2 and the – side to pin 5.

You could also test the head unit by plugging 4,5 ~ 5 volt into it. (again + side on pin2, – side on pin 5).

Let me know the results :).

hey,

Hedgetrimmer sells a virtualboy stand medalion replacement kit. http://www.planetvb.com/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=4984&forum=3 so that’s one way to fix it :).

as for the black line i have no idea if it’s the miror of the glitchy lines. on ebay you can find 4,5 mm gamebits. You have to make sure thats it’s long enough to reach the deepest holes in the virtualboy. The one i have is just a little bit to short so i have to apply some pressure to get the screws out.

I’m currently playing:

3ds: professor Layton and the miracle mask, Pokemon White version 2.

Xbox 360: Assassins creed Brotherhood (Revelations next :D).

Virtual Boy: Bound High, Wario.

I like them all at the moment 🙂 but time can be a bit short :p

Good luck everyone with thier games!

Edit:
Playing Pokemon Blue on GBA 🙂

I saw this today on ebay:

I haven’t got any idea what it is and how it is really related to the VB but tought others might be interrested

Nice update Eric.

Have been interested in this topic for a while. 😀
Just never really posted a comment :).

Keep up the good work!

Hey,

I just used this one: http://www.ebay.nl/itm/One-4-5mm-GameBit-Game-Bit-Hex-Security-Tool-7-5cm-nintendo-sega-n64-mega-drive-/390526807103?pt=UK_VG_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item5aed362c3f#ht_2238wt_1151

Altough its not a whole screwdriver (just a bit). And you have to push to reach the deepest holes. It did a great job in opening the VB.

Donated earlier this week. 😉

But came here to say thanks! 😀

I watched this last weekend. It gave me some ideas for the carts

Cool they look very high quality!

Cool!

how did they turn out?

You are makeing a VB controller :D?

Mine second (with glitchy display problem)

VN10540561[8] (USA)

Looks cool! Maybe there is a mod that turns the sky black?

Saw this yesterday looks like it’s something that the VB could have used.

But I don’t know if the Virtual Boy would be powerfull enough

Happy new year everyone!
Let’s hope 2013 will be just as a great year as 2012 for the Virtual Boy!

Recieved it yesterday!
Great quality! I would order again if neccesary but it seems that its to strong to break right now!

Fixed it!

I replaced the main board with that one from the other broken unit now it does work! :D.

Which still leads me to believe that the PU is broken.

But for now it works :D.
Good to see wario again!

Kind regards,
Roelvdm3

And thanks for al those who helpen me!

Hi!

Welcome! The Virtual Boy is a great console!

Thank you for the response! I am going to try it out now!
Edit:
Last night I already checked that the red light on the power regulator goes on and i can hear a verry verry soft buzz coming from the speakers only on max volume (not the mirrors moving). Which I think is so wierd because when i plug 4,5 directly into the head unit the light on the regulator also goes on and the mirrors and leds start working. But when i use the controller the light on the regulator goes on but then nothing happens.

Hi,

Do you guys think that it would be a good deal to buy a broken one and swap parts? to create a Franken Virttual Boy.

Kind regards,
Roelvdm3
