I second that, I’ve always wanted to play an RPG on the VB, it’s one of my favourite game genres! It’d be awesome to play a Final Fantasy, or a Pokemon game, or a Legend of Zelda type of game on the VB! At least in my head, I can imagine the 3D being used really well (i.e. having towns pop out giving building’s more “height and depth”, having villains that pop out like in Jack Bros (but better 😉 ) or, for pokemon or final fantasy like games, attacks that really express the 3D capacities)
I dont think long play sessions would be a huge issue, at least in my opinion; Ive played the VB for hours with no issue before, but maybe that’s just me 🙂

Personally, I think the Virtual Boy and its library is more similar to the Game Boy. The added power did help to make the games feel a little less microscopic though. Visually more on-par with SNES, but the games felt a lot more like Game Boy games, as in shorter and better for quick plays.
I also totally agree, I would say personally it feels more like a Game Boy than an SNES, mainly being what you said about how most of the games are more “quick plays”
The graphics are definitely worth mentioning though because if you consider it like a Game Boy, then that would be quite an impressive Game Boy 🙂
But it really is it’s own breed from Nintendo 🙂

Personally you and I see eye to eye on this one I do feel it’s like a higher res gameboy mainly for the lack of music ability on the console. I do feel that it has lots of untapped potential and can’t wait to see what the future holds for our little red buddy.
Yeah, I’d say the Virtual Boy is totally capable of much more than the games released for it showed

Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve EVER used the VB with batteries. Does it drain them as fast as the rumors say
Actually I started using batteries cause I had a bunch of AA’s I needed to use up. It took WAY longer than I expected to run them dry. I didn’t time it, it was a lot of on and off playing over a few weeks. I’d say between 6-10 hours a solid game play. I’m gonna have to time it sometime, because I think it’s on the higher end of that guess..
Yeah, Ive been playing with batteries up until now and it actually has really good battery life, I dont really know where all the talk came from back in the day that it had bad battery life, I’ve found it to be roughly about what you said, 8-10 hours or so, and definitely way over the roughly 5 hours I can get off of my 3DS

What STD did you get for free? (had to do it, I found it really funny that that paper says Free STD)
And according to the pamphlet, if I register my STD, I can be entered in their monthly giveaway to get more free STDs, and be the first to learn about them too
just a little question: the squared sticker is meant to be for the cart, in the opposite side than the one with “flashboy” written on it?
thanks again!!!
I assume you have a new flashboy that has “Flashboy Plus” etched into it?
I may be wrong, but my understanding is the sticker was made back when Flashboys required a donor cart to be made, so you would put the sticker onto the donor cart where the game label sticker would be on a commercial game, so since the new flashboys are made with a 3D printer, “Flashboy” is just etched onto the cart
So to answer your question, I believe the sticker isn’t really made for the new batches of Flashboys, but putting it on the back is a good idea 🙂
In hopes of not sounding stupid, the grid I’m referring to is not supposed to be there; it’s in the top left hand corner near where one of the “VB” adjustment triangles are, not the grid behind the “Virtual Boy” logo in the center
I’ve tried pulling it out a bit, having it in all the way, it barely being in there, etc. and that doesn’t seem to change much, but I’ll continue to play around with it
