what are your favorite homebrews?[/quote]
I haven’t delved into the homebrew community yet. I bought Boung High!, but I don’t think that counts. I’m also not sure which is the best Virtual Boy emulator, as Red Dragon doesn’t even have sound. I’m not ready to buy a flash boy, either.
But, two that really look fun and interesting to me are Fishbone and Ballface. The mario level would be cool to play just to get an idea what the unreleased prototype level was. 🙂
Personally, I feel that if the regular edition is the $200 edition, I won’t be able to buy it. 14 stages, no 2 player, and no arena mode can’t justify $200, even if it comes with other extras.
Here are my ideas
Plan A: release the regular prototype as the $200, as it is the purest version, no alterations, and owning the actual prototype instead of a rom hack should be the higher priced.
Plan B: Let the buyer pick which cart he wants and which edition, $100 or $200. There are a lot of people that want both roms, so giving people a choice is a very nice option. Especially for those less financially stable to afford the donator’s edition, but still want the most complete game possible.
I mean… who goes there? How can there be enough people interested in that to justify a semi active forum? O-o
I forgot how good the Virtual Boy graphics were…puke
$100 for pirated cartridges? Seriously guys?
Yeah. Just for the fun of it (and to teach them a lesson) (and because fuck the Virtual Boy) I’ve forwarded all the relevant info to Nintendo’s antipiracy folks.

I can donate maybe $20 when it’s possible… I don’t want a cartridge though, so it can go direct to bigmak (I hope).
Can’t wait for the rom though, I will make a video review of it as soon as I can.
Yeah, could we donate a little bit on money each time, working our way up to a copy of the game, or do we have to donate a payment of $100 or $200?
Not to sound greedy, but anyway to make an arena mode? Just take existing maps in the game, and turn them in mazes for arena mode! Let the player pick any combination of 8 different smiloids that he wants to fight against. You vs the smiloids for whoever can reach 8 tags(kills) first wins!
I really hope it’s not my fault the link was down. Great project, just bad timing, considering Eric and Ben paid a lot of money. And yes, maybe it could become a sequel or something. Please bring back the link. I didn’t mean anything bad.
Oh, but for ideas to make the game Faceball AND Ballface better, here is a very interesting remake called “Faceball 3000”. Very difficult, but you have a few lives, lots of power-ups, and strafing! I highly recommend it! 🙂
Red Alarm doesn’t have as many stages as Star Fox(easy, normal or hard mode), but I feel that it is a much superior game. The wireframe is cooler than the polygons in my opinion, and the sound and presentation are top notch.
Many people said there were no great stand out Virtual Boy games at launch. They should have played Red Alarm.
DanB, I’m very sorry about what I said. Your project looks fantastic, but like Protoman85 said, it may have been bad timing. If this came out AFTER the cart release, then I would be much more enthusiastic towards your project.
Still, keep up the great work. I didn’t mean to offend anybody.
