true, it’s just irritating when some lovely people from the community put it out there for free.
it seems i have over-estimated the power of a smiley.
i thought the beginning of the post was obviously satirical, since it ended with recognition of the difficulty and effort involved. sorry if it’s been misread, thats probably my fault. i have great respect for the community. c’est la vie.
it is an exciting prospect tho isn’t it? the VB finally being multiplayer.. this game could do that. and sure, if the rom is available, people can learn the skills to put it onto a cart themselves.. then all we need is the m/player connector wire and we’re golden.
aye, i didn’t mean like a ‘release’. just some homebrew back shed hobbyists messin around with computers… le innocent. le sigh.. i wants it. 🙁
PM sent. what a crackin offer. really hope only genuine VB fans who want to preserve their own systems apply.
i would say it’s one of the best VB auctions i’ve ever seen.. honest, to the point, and providing you with what you’ll need to keep it working.
eventually i’d love to be able to do the solder repair on mine, but im not skilled enough yet, so it’s the oven method for me for now.
do we have proof this was actually a legit VB game that was being worked on at the time? i mean how do we know the guy who had it didn’t just create the game himself? is there like list of titles that were being worked on? cos i dont remember ever hearing this one before..
lester nailed it.
on a different topic.. this guy is making VB cabinets to a very high standard..
Now that is going to be hard to find for free. Let me know when you find it.
lulz.. look, i guess im just a hopeless idealist, but i like it when people help each other out. many on this site do with the carts etc, and its awesome, the guy who provided the BH code for free did, the guy who provided the box art as open source did, i guess im a hippy at heart.
*goes back to the commune*
🙂
sorry, i hadnt read those words. dont check the site much. my bad for bein lazy.
i need a good spanking.
not from you guys tho. a professional. with boobs.
i dont see how repros are prohibited on ebay, i see them for mega drive all the time.
when you say ‘they want to make money off of someone elses work” isnt that what anyone selling BH is doing? they didnt create the game, in fact if i remember rightly the code was given to the community for free. so it kinda sounds like you want guys selling it on here to have the monopoly for something they have as much intellectual property rights over as the guy who tried to sell it on ebay. the only difference being that the ebay guy didnt swap the code on the cart himself. (and apparently misleading people, which is bullshit.)
i really dont think a ‘promise’ not to sell something is legally binding either. not unless you wrote up a contract or something.
imo there is no way to make a legal distinction between what is being sold here and anyone else trying to sell their copies.
Im in total agreement that if people just try to jump on the list then sell it for stupid money, thats some bullshit, and i can see how that hurts the community as you guys are less likely to want to do more runs.
i didnt know the full story, i just took it at face value. i totally agree that if someone is misleading people its bullshit, but again, its really only the buyer who will be duped. shit happens. i dont think its this community’s place to go round policing the internet to the point where they concoct ways to harrass people they deem to be guilty of whatever crime.
i totally appreciate the skllls needed to make the cart up, im not knocking anyones efforts here, and i do tend to try and see the best in people, so i apologise if i gave this guy too much credit. i didnt know the history, and if he was just tryin to take the piss then i can see why people would be annoyed.
is Bound High sold on this site for money? i know some people do a ‘donate 2 carts & you get the game free’ deal. but if im not mistaken it’s also being sold at quite a tasty price, for example in the complete package etc, then its a bit hypocritical to jump on someone for selling their copy.
If i buy something i own it and its mine to sell.
there are some pretty outlandish prices being asked for games that a couple of people have a monopoly on the code for. is bound high code available open source? cos if not, i think it’s even worse to be hounding people for selling their copy, which they probably bought from here.
i wont ever sell my copy, but i think its a bit pathetic to be doing witch hunts on someone selling theirs.
can I get the file for the manual so i can print it out myself? i have the cart and box and would like to complete it.
if you’re not willing to release that file, how much would you charge for just the manual?
thanks
this is all very exciting! a never before seen VB game that was intended for legit release?
you really have gone above and beyond in acquiring the prototype, but it really doesn’t sit well with me that some guy was holding on to it and then sold it for such a big amount. i mean unless that japanese guy was solely responsible for coding the entire game, it’s really not his to sell like that and is a pretty anti-gamer thing to do to hold on to it in secret, only releasing it for big bucks. Even if he was on the staff that worked on it, it wasn’t his money that financed it, it was nintendos. What would he have done with it if no one had stumped up the cash? and was he pimping it around to try and find a buyer? if no one else had ever offered the money, he would have had a worthless piece of plastic.
Anyone with a love for gaming wouldn’t do this, i expect he was a money man for nintendo and somehow got a hold of it.
anyway, that’s not a reflection on you bigmac, you’re a legend. now if only someone would come forward with dragon hopper. lol

could you make the manual file available so we can print it ourselves? the box art you’re using was primarily someone else’s work, not to mention the game data itself was given for free, so it would be in the spirit of the community to make the manual available too.
merry xmas.
professionally updated from already existing freely available sources. get it right now
🙂
negative would imply a biased description of a situation.. was i inaccurate?
i did say the effort is appreciated and i recognised not everyone has the capacity to make their own packages. but for those who could, is it so very wrong to suggest an update to an existing work be made available for download, as has been the proud tradition of such communities?
You’re more than welcome to purchase the manual only for 12 dollars plus shipping from my website in a few weeks. The manual is 12 pages. It is an updated version of the one you can get from here with lots of fixes to it. The front and back cover are completely redone to fit with the VB style more.
The box itself is completely redone minus the front graphic. The front graphic will match the label you currently have, but the background of everything is as close as humanly possibly to the actual VB style as compared to the other one available for download here. You can see the box above.
Hope that helps!
it does help, thanks. So you’re basically providing a service for putting together a package made from updates of other peoples work and you dont want to release your updated files for download. k. got it.
tho i must say, i dont see any dif between the above box art and the one i got months ago, did you say that one is the final design?
hey, i don’t mind you makin a bit o moolah off of the effort, it’s a great service for those who dont have the ability to make one up themselves.
perhaps i’ve got my rose tinted open source goggles on. i do apologise. ^_^
great to see this being done. i already have a game and box, but would like to get a manual to complete my set. what does the manual consist of? how many pages is it and could you make the file available for those able to print it themselves?
the box art has obviousy been made public, it would befit the spirit of the vb community to release the manual in the same way as whoever made the box art.
