i have come to the conclusion that i think something about my vision prohibits me from properly experiencing anaglpyh 3d.
when i put the glasses on, for example to play minecraft in 3d, the blue image is perfectly concealed thru the blue lense, but the red image is still visible thru the red lense. maybe minecraft 3d just isnt done well.. i dont think im colour blind.. lol

will you be making the manual design available to those who want to get it done themselves? that would be a win for community spirit, and the VB legacy, no?
it’s cool to charge for a service for those who dont have the means or desire to make them up, but also good to offer the designs as open source i think.

hold on, i think i misunderstood.. is this just for the manual cover, not a complete manual design? if so, ignore my above comment cos it already is available as open source lol

Terribly sorry for the delay. I have contacted the person who originally stated they would be able to make the boxes many times and they no longer answer my emails. I have tried dealing with one other person who was a total waste of time even though having an excellent reputation. I shipped him a box and manual at his request and the final product was some strange 80% size box made of thin glossy paper that had graphics overlapping everywhere. Cost me $30 for something I could have made myself in under 20 minutes. I am still contacting other repro makers but I am getting kinda fed up of things falling through. If anyone knows anyone reputable who can make these let me know. I realize how long this has gone on for now and I apologize. I will do everything in my power to see this through.

bad times.. i went and got mine done at staples for £4. jobs a good ‘un. box is a little bit thinner than official, but if im really bothered all i have to do is get the thing printed as a transfer and stick it to some nice thick card. either way is good enough for purposes and doable by oneself.

bump

is it frowned upon to bump your own thread? ; )

aye good point. id have to check but im sure last time i inspected an N64 insert it looked pretty darn complicated and not like it was from one sheet.. but yea, ive just been lazy i guess in not attempting to make one myself.. the vb inserts look a little simpler tho.

i think that idea about the logo sounds excellent.. all we need now is a manual to be designed.. again, something i could do myself but probably wont lol

I’ll take one apart and post a template if needed.
I’m back on VB projects this weekend and picking up the Chalvo art among other things.

that would be sweet.while you’re at it, fancy doin one for the n64? lol.

nah but really, ive been wanting to find a template for cardboard inserts for vb and n64 for ages.. never got round to trying to do one myself..and the few people selling them charge ridiculous prices for them, i couldnt find a template anywhere on the internet.. that shit should be public property not exclusive to evil resellers on ebay lol

I hope you’ll be doing a Dragon Hopper template someday.

oh god, me too man.. me too.. has anyone actually tried a comprehensive treasurehunt for that source code? do we have names of people who worked on it? lol

Nice video (like all the one’s you make).

BTW you could do what Me and Chris did with the first FlashBoy boxes.

I printed the template onto A4 self-adhesive paper and Chris applied them to Mario Tennis boxes (we used them as donor carts).

That’s my box art! 🙂 I’m so glad to see it put to good use! 😀

you made that? awesome!! thanks so much! lol.
as im sure you know, it comes up right at the top of a google image search for ‘bound high’. yea, i took it down to the store on a memory stick and away i went! lol
thankyou!!!!!!!!!

oh SNAP!! thats a CLASS idea! wish i’d thought of that beforehand lol.. i think i might still try to do that one day.. thanks for the tip! : )

hey,

I took your Space Squash translation and made an English version of the manual.

I basically redrew the complete manual using inkscape. Only the graphics from the cover and the back and the game screenshots are from are from the scans.

has anyone made up a bound high manual? im pretty happy with the box i made for mine, would love to ‘complete’ it.

ah i see.. thanks for the low down. yea i knew no official cable was made, just wondered if the tech heads had figured it..
but im real surprised tennis and the other games that are obivously designed to be 2 player dont have it.. like space squash, waterworld, baseball, tetris, bomberman, they could all so easily have had 2 player code in anticipation of what, at the time, must have seemed like an inevitability.. the friggin 2 player cable!

damn, nintendo really screwed up with the virtual boy.. no news there, but of all the mistakes, im startin to think this was their biggest.

i mean the port is right there!!!

ok breath…. aaaaaand relax..

For the atari, which one would you like to see on 3D? Just remember i’m gonna try this to take experiencie with development for the vb…

I’d have to say my fav original game for 2600 has to be warlords. but you really need the VB link cable for that. What about pitfall 2 could you do that one. or river raid or barnstormer Id like to see updated versions of all 3 of those. You know like a Super Mario Bros. All Stars. Just my 2 cents.

did someone actually make a VB link cable then? and if so, do the existing games actually support it? i guess i could do some research and find out but i know you guys like to show off your expertise and who am i to deny you? lol

it makes sense tho, surely when they coded the games they were anticipating the link cable coming out, i mean the tennis game was surely made with that more in mind than the 1 player mode..

so yea, can u actually hook 2 VBs up to play together?

So, now that your vboy is working…what games are you going to play first ?

definitely mario clash.. i love that game but never played past the first few levels cos the glitch would slowly start to appear by round 3 lol

my favourite game on the system by far is red alarm, but weirdly that game was never effected by the glitch so i wasnt prevented from playing that..

i also be looking to get into space squash, that one looks great but i havnt spent more than 5 mins with it yet..

1) Mega Drive
2) xbox360
3) N64
4) Xbox
5) Dreamcast

based primarily on the systems ive spent the most time with..
shockingly no place for the VB, but ive only just managed to fix the horizontal line glitch, so im sure ill be spending a hell of a lot more time with it now! : )

great idea. lookin forward to the controls section cos i havnt figured out how to play this yet, really. lol

aint it weird how they use english text for ‘contents’ and ‘insmouse’ on the front?

hey, thanks a lot for the insight.. i appreciate it a lot.
yea i would definitely put tape around to reinforce. when i get round to it ill post a video of the proceedure on my youtube channel and ill definitely shout out to the planetVB massive. : )

@nintendoid.. ooh! i didnt know it had a US release! that looks cool! yea its a fun little gundam clone.. not bad at all.

aint dat da troof.

i think the guys on here and elsewhere who are fixing VBs are absolute heroes. to the community, and to the future of gaming..

todays collector pieces are tomorrows museum pieces.. with more people fixing stuff, we’ll have retro into the future for that little bit longer.

i havnt tried to open it up yet, got the long gamebit, but need a screwdriver handle, a thin one at that..

but i am tempted to enlist the talents of a proper tech guy to do it with soldering.. what do you think? is the oven fix good enough?

my youtube – http://www.youtube.com/user/shenmueso

im “playing” a driving theory test thingy on the DS, also zelda phantom hourglass.

on mega drive ive been havin a blast on Final Zone Axis (jap exclusive)

not playin any virtual boy at the mo cos i need to fix a glitchy right hand screen.. bad times..

hi there, i was advised to come to you by bigmak, im interested in gettin hold of a bound high cart.. so it’s a cart as payment, right? where should i send them?

you do a sticker for it?

best regards
