It’s definitely a nice acquisition. There really aren’t a ton of these development carts known out there in comparison to, say Gameboy or something for example. Makes total sense, given the relatively small library. As such, putting a solid price on VB dev stuff isn’t nearly as easy as on more popular systems (not usually easy itself given the variables but you get what I mean)

Thanks for sharing!

Please put some black electrical tape or something over those ROM chip windows. If they absorb enough light the chips will start erasing.

Very cool! The erase windows being totally uncovered is a bit unnerving though…

Good to know Morintori, may have to check it out.

The Zpace Racers homebrew by DanB is similar to Zero Racers

I think you are remembering Faceball.

I really wouldn’t be surprised if I’m mixing the two up.

No mine fits pretty regularly into the VB, I’ve never noticed it being tight.

The info I think may be on this forum, I don’t have time to do the forum wide search thing. Like I said, I remember someone posting a picture of the in progress work. I can’t remember all the details, we’re going back a few years =P

My guess is Anon did the cart as well but it could’ve been Minestorm since he was doing Flashboys and stuff at the time. Just a guess though.

PM’ed. Oh please lord, let there be a copy of this for me 😁😁😁🤞🤞🤞

If you don’t manage to get one I’ll let you caress mine =P

I didn’t notice that this morning, no. Maybe had to squeeze a little to slide it in proper but I don’t think enough for a bulge

And this is why I need to make myself notes, lol.

Here’s what it looks like inside.

There’s a picture on here that was posted during production, but that was quite a while ago…

I can post a picture of mine later tonight.

The best way to tell would be the box and manual(I’m assuming you’d be going by pictures and can’t take a look at the board itself). The original run were all CIB. I made a video of mine and VectrexRoli made a video on his, I believe in both our videos we go into detail about the box and manual.
I’m not sure how many of the ‘repro’ runs came as CIB, but it’s harder to copy all 3 parts then just to copy the cart sticker. Now the board inside the cart would be a sure fire way but usually you don’t get to see it in a sale.

Ooh, now I feel obligated to get one!

I’m not a developer but I was toying with the idea of making a run of games..I have a programmer. My thought was to make an affordable Hyper Fighting CIB available, hopefully curb some of the scalping on ebay.
Just a thought, as I’m sure I’m not the only one thinking of doing one of those. My main drive was to keep it affordable/ more in line with other VB CIBs

Lol, $1500

That’s true, thanks for reminding me. I don’t think it was a huge update by any means, though.

Yeah, this was known. Just goes to show how close some of the unreleased games were to finished/releasing.

Virtual Baseball 2 US version was just a roster update if memory serves me correct. The Japanese one got the US versions more realistic players as a change as well.

I commend you for at least trying!

Assembler Games is also dead. Was much more involved with that website, since I was big into the protos. I barely went to NA.

Same goes with a lot of store demo paks that don’t have a specific NSF label. Just have to be willing to take the risk.

Why does the dust cover have a hole in it? I mean I could be extremely ignorant but pretty sure none of mine have a hole in the bottom.

Just step away.

Step away from the soldering iron, sir!

That’s a good start! Looks like it’s all in good condition. As for the eye piece, no big deal, you’ll want to get them solder fixed anyway.

Welcome to the club =D
