I actually really like the GBA game remake idea. Good luck, can’t wait to try it out when it’s ready!

Well I must say it seems to resist impact alright. I (very unfortunately) tripped over the power cable of my VB sending it flying onto the hardwood floor (cable re-routed, never happening again!). While the stand got slightly disfigured (leans a bit to the left now), the medallion is fine.

There, I admitted it. I’m now going to sit in the corner sobbing and stroking my VB =(

Although it proves that these things are actually pretty tough, since it still works flawlessly. I guess that would probably have been different had it been on when it happened…

Heheh, these are great!

Last one I saw on eBay went for about $80 for a pretty good shape CIB. I stopped bidding at that point because damn, most buy it nows are between $75 (not so awesome box) to $90 (nicer box). I should stop being chincy and just get a buy it now one, but I’m a cheap bastard so I’m gonna wait forever to save what’s looking to be like $15.
(All prices include shipping costs)

I’ve only been looking for a few weeks, so maybe others have found it cheaper.

I can’t get over how awesome these are.

Make sure you check out the 1st release of Hunter, a game I wish had been finished. It does some really impressive things with the VB 3D. I remember feeling immersed the 1st time I played it.

Don’t forget that you can also enjoy hacks and translations. I’ll recommend the Mario Clash controller fix hack by DogP. http://www.planetvb.com/modules/games/?r006d

Hmm, I totally missed Hunter..I’ll check it out for sure! Probably when I get home tonight. Thanks!

And good call on the game hacks…I’m sure I’ll be WAY better at Mario Clash when I’m not pressing the wrong buttons all the time. When you play Mario games with a certain key layout for 23 years it sort of gets deeply ingrained into your brain.

What are your favorite games played so far ?

Yeti3D is really cool! Very cool to see what the Virtual Boy can do! I’ve really enjoyed Blox 2, really cool and polished looking game. I haven’t played Fishbone as much as I’ve liked to, but I did play it for a bit and I liked what I saw. Hyper Fighting is for sure on the list. It’s quite incredible actually. Mario Kart Virtual Cup is pretty awesome, feels a lot like the Super Nes version. Also liking Mario VB, feels like I’m back in time at E3 =P And can’t forget VB Racing, the only driving game ever on the VB. It’s a shame too, they look great on this console.

I’ve still got some more to try yet, but I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far. There’s definitely talent here.

I’m glad you like the case. Yes, it was printed on my MakerBot Replicator 2.

Before, I was hacking original cases. Printing saves me a lot of work because I can drop the PCB straight in.

That is too cool. This is the first 3D Printed thing I’ve ever touched!

I think this is definitely the way to go. Like you said, no hacking the original carts for the USB slot, this one looks so clean and proper. Oh, and how you can see the red PCB through the “Flashboy Plus” lettering…awesome idea!

Don’t stop there; do your own homebrew too!

Is it hard? I’ve never coded a game before.. In fact the only time I coded was Basic about 10 years ago. Maybe I’ll do a bit of research, it would be cool to make something =D

I’m really excited to see what everyone comes up with for the competition!

It’s still the same demo as far as I know

Let’s not forget it’s in 3d! Hey that’s better than ANY other port of the game! >B

That was the awesome part =P

Amazing work! I get lost in this game forgetting it’s even homebrew. In my mind, I’m in an arcade..only in red and awesome =P

Flashboys are unavailable right now, we’re waiting for Minestorm to let us know when they’re available again.

I’ve also reported it and sent him a “question”

This is not cool and a slap in the face for everyone involved.

The most I’ve paid so far is $90 (shipped) for a (very nice condition) Nester’s Funky Bowling CIB.

I might break that while trying to get 3D tetris (I have a thing for Boxed sets…)

Otherwise, I can’t really afford to spend more than a couple hundred bucks on a game…even $200 for a sealed 3D Tetris is hard to swallow.. I mean if it was something I just couldn’t refuse, like Virtual Bowling for a good price, I could dip into my line of credit, but I think I’d draw the line at $500

It would be very cool to find out some info that has yet been released!

If only this had come a reality. That guy’s right, imagine bramble blast where you could fire off into a set of background barrels! Would have been an amazing game for the system. Then again, there’s lots of games that would have been…

It could have been a port with added extras exclusively for the VB

I’ll stick to my standard 3ds and virtual boy. Also boourns on mono speaker and slate design, both reason enough to get a 3ds instead. Then again, this is aimed at the young kids who can’t use the 3d.
