Wangan Sensen Red City says it’s a shooting game in these scans, but on here it says it’s a war simulation. Judging from the other games this publisher was making probably an airplane dogfight game.

It definitely says Signal Rat in this scan.. Katakana is usually used when the words originated from another language, usually English. I’m not sure what Tatto (or Tat) would mean unless it’s a word they made up for the game. Otherwise, Signal Rat doesn’t exactly make a whole lot of sense either.

I’ll fill one of the slots

They’re meeeeltiiing!

He does kinda make it sound like it’s impossible to fix

It would be really cool to have a reproduction Dragon Hopper box. I think the best way is to redraw it as close to original as possible. The pictures available are way too low res to make a decent box. While I love the idea of a redrawn japanese style cover, it would take away from the cool factor of having an original looking Dragon Hopper Box.

Well they don’t last forever, so it would be nice to be able to get replacements. They’re like $60 or so for an official one (ebay), which is pricey for what it is.

I can’t find any info on the bronze 3DS. The picture on the product discription is most definitely the black one. Maybe that’s what they were originally calling cosmos black for some reason?

Welcome to the site!

They look good to me!

I don’t think the FB+ reuses the RAM from the donor cart. It would be a lot of extra work to remove the chips (there’s also a chip to automatically switch between VB power and the battery), and it would mean the tons of Baseball carts out there would be useless as donors.

Phew, thanks! I just thought of it and wanted to make sure I didn’t screw up.

Aww, poor Baseball. Nobody loves you

Aww, wait a second. I didn’t even think of that. So for my donor cart I either need to use Wario Land or Galactic Pinball to get the save function?

Anybody need a copy of Vertical Force? =P

The only thing different I can see with pics 2 and 3 is the boxed power tap.

Otherwise, that box looks different than the normal Japanese Virtual Boy box. Is it one of those not for resale ones? I heard those had the black & white pixelated picture on the front.

Sounds to me like the poster is trying to have a little reality show of his own. Throw a bunch of random stuff in a safe and “break into it”, LIVE ON TEH INTERWEBZ.

That seems like the most logical answer.

Haha, just googled the pawn stars episode. Yeah…looks like some glitchy displays to me. Pretty sure those lines aren’t supposed to be there =P

Hmm, I have this problem too, I just thought it was normal. I find it’s just at the very top and bottom of the screen, and like you I can move my head slightly to view either the top or the bottom crystal clear, but never all clear at the same time. I’ll check my alignment too..

Ok, my alignment looks like the attached picture. Looks fine to me.

No amount of IPD and focus adjustment fixes this for me, sliding all the way to the right does pretty much fix it but then the center is more fuzzy. I’m pretty sure this is the edges of the plastic lenses I’m seeing. Not sure if a new set of lenses would fix this or if it’s just a property of the plastic when it’s being formed. Either way, I rarely notice it as not a whole lot is happening on the very top and bottom edges of the screen at any given time. The only times I can think of where I noticed it was when I was checking my score.

That has to be a repro. It’s got a mint condition label on it, a dust cover, and an ESRB rating. None of that screams prototype to me. Not to mention, although it’s illegible but it sure looks like the “prototype edition” text is there in it’s spot. That safe must have been locked up fairly recently…

What about the 1080i HD CRT TV Panasonic put out? My friend had one and the picture on that thing was amazing. All the benefits of CRT but crisper.

LCD is good for the 1080p movies and newer games, but CRT is untouched for any game console that uses sprites. They are also good for digital cable as they seem to tone down the artifacting that seems to show up everywhere when watching D-cable on an LCD.

As for the original topic, the reason I like the VB is for it’s retro 1995 technology. So what if it’s only Red/Black, the fact that they came up with that technology at the time and had the balls to try to sell it to the world is amazing. Newer devices like the OR don’t interest me. They lack the charm and history that makes the Virtual Boy special.

Glad you got your system and in working order too. Its the start of a beautiful friendship. Lol!

Me too! I was expecting it to have issues after shipping, but nope! Oh I think it is. I already ordered 3 more games last night (teleroboxer US version with box and shrink wrap, Japanese Mario Tennis new in box, and Warioland cart only)

This is my small collection for now. This all came bundled and just arrived Yesterday. I still have 3 more games coming (Red Alarm is waiting at the post office, Mario’s Tennis was just orderd, and still have to order Wario Land, can’t decide whether I wanna pay extra for a boxed one =P). Really glad I can read katakana, sure makes playing these Japanese games easier!

So I’ll post this for now and when I get the rest and display it all purty I’ll post an updated pic.

Thanks man! Oh I’ll for sure be checking out everything available for this amazing console.

Panic Bomber is quite fun. It gets pretty addicting, and some pretty good music in there as well.
Vertical force is pretty good as well, although I didn’t get quite as sucked in as into panic bomber
