This is funny, this site hasn’t been this active lately! Now that people talk about potentially new found protos we are active like a Christmas tree at Rockerfeller square.

Good to see the community is still alive, just a bit dorment 😉
I would be willing to add a few Euro’s IF anything is real, which I doubt is in the case of Akumie.

You did everything right, though sometimes other people are just crazy, like this person and that is something you cannot control unfortunately.

I don’t think his feedback will affect you negatively, it will affect him negatively as a buyer/seller on Ebay though. If people read that feedback they know he has weird logic and think again to buy/sell something from/to this guy.
I at least know if he wants me to fix his displays I will refuse to do that (done 10 fixes for people through PVB now since January).

I agree, but, why did you note SML3:WL before VB:WL? 😛

Glitchy lines are always due to failing screens. Sometimes people have no problems with certain games and the displays, though with other games they have. Games use different types of ways to drive the displays. So you can honestly tell him he has the glitchy display problem with his VB.

To be honest, all VB systems will have or all have the glitchy display problem unless they are permanently fixed.

on marktplaats there is one standing for 150 euro he wants to sell for 75 maybe something for you?

That one is gone and sold for €110,-
I know, because I was the one who sold it 😉

Believe it or not, but I used to think like that in the beginning as well. Look at the highscores I set ;). Just keep on believing!

But what about the price drop from $299.99 down to $169.99 only a few mere months after launch?
I wish I could be optimistic and hopeful, but I’ve been more fearful than anything for good reason.

VB had horrible battery life, and what did we get after the first sudden & giant price drop?

I am with DogP on this, the 250 price was just too much, now they are making it cheaper than they would have needed to. If they started out with 200 it would have sold way better already and a little pricecut would have attracted less negative attention.

Don’t forget that this time Nintendo as a whole supports the 3DS and it wasn’t like the VB. The VB was rushed out and resources were directed to the N64. The 3DS is one of Nintendo’s ace cards, so they will certainly not make it fail.

When Mario 3DS Land comes out, it will sell like hell. And don’t forget: the VB only sold 770k units, while the 3DS is long beyond that point.

I think there only will be a bigger market for the add-on batteries to be honest. More people will run into the 3 hour problem than now. I hope for a better solution, preferably by Nintendo themselves, it is said that they will sell original battery kits soon with a new back-plate where you can exchange batteries easy and conveniently.

Mine is definitely Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Master piece of a game and still play it every now and then.

Sign me up as well! This is a great plan and offer to the community, VERY nice!

Did you have fun making the video? :P, seems that you were in a few painful situations there. Great that it is on Youtube now, a lot of my friends loved it as well, even though they don’t know the VB or not that good.

Stupid question maybe, but did you have a game in it? If so, did you make sure it was inserted the right way and firmly? The VB won’t show anything unless you have a game in it. Your VB DOES go on, it is either the first, or maybe the displays got a REALLY bad case of glitchy problems.

VERY nicely done! I love it! Very cool that the Daft Punk person made the suit for free, got to love those kind of people. Keep up the reckless Virtual Boy playing!

I wouldn’t mind participating as a judge and therefor of course withdraw from being able to win anything. I have enough VB stuff now 🙂

Honkey, I sent you a mail earlier today. If they haven’t arrived by tuesday next week I will go to the post office and let them pay for it. Fortunately I have a spare set of soldered screens laying here, so I will send them in when (if it is needed of course) I get compensated by the post office.

Very glad to hear it works great, always nice to know another VB has been recovered permanently screen wise!

No problem :P!
You can use tape without complications, but try and get a new screw. What I would do is take out the screw with pliers and replace it with the second screw of the lens. Happy VBing!! 😛

Yup, same problem! You did a nice job on the soldering btw! Too bad I cannot obtain cheap flux here, that really makes a difference…

Don’t really like Mario Tennis at all here to be honest. I play tennis in real life, so I guess that is the reason I don’t like the video game 😛
I actually had a bit of fun playing Clash, so voted for that one!

Just uploaded the part on youtube

The best moment by far is when Taylor (the boy who is selling the VB) says who wants to play hours on the machine, Chumlee is like “I do” haha and then awkward silence

Could not find the edit button so anyways not to be rude but the person who uploaded it on megauploads did not add the last part when the old man is playing the vb so after I found the video with the extra ending I decided to upload the whole thing to youtube
Enjoy 🙂

Oops, my bad, thanks for noticing it, I didn’t watch it any further as it seemed as they closed the VB part there and then.

If it makes you feel any better, I recently just added a new top time! 😛

But man though, what an awesome game! It’s got great levels, secrets all over the place, makes great use of the 3D effects (and not crazily over doing it), catchy tunes, and has elements unique to almost all the levels. I love it!

Also, I too just begun the hard mode… and I can’t beat the first boss! Seems Wario just can’t run faster than the boss can throw the spiked ball on his head. Is there something I’m just overlooking? :\

I know your feeling about the first boss, it is a hard one in hard mode. Thanks for beating my highscore as well 😛
