Well, the original files were 3MB and 2MB is the limit, so…. Only solution I did see.
Here they are downloaded from IMGshack and uploaded here again though!

Thanks a lot for the info! I now understand the difference and am sure the one I just won is just a normal version. Nonetheless, very happy with it for 16 Euro including shipping.
Funny how the domain name change gets this much response lol. At least everyone is honest and still respectful, that shows how good the VB community is!

I don’t mind shipping stuff out for people not in the US as long as it’s nothing illegal, you let me know before hand, and you pay the costs.
Wow, for real? I might hold you to it once 😉
Thanks for the offer man.

“PVB” is how I refer to this site most of the times.p-vb.com is available.
Close enough to the wished domain?
I really like this alternative! Guess I need to be a donor soon 😛
Space Squash is another game that is loads of fun and has a very good 3D effect. Especially the controls are very good, reacts like it should.

Yup, not that I have “a good, current-controlled bench supply”, who does? 😉It’s likely one of those is even better than the standard charger. But nowadays there is usually a microprocessor that checks the voltage regularly and stops the charging when done “delta V” is the new “in-word” for chargers when you read tech magazines.
When I did a job for an electronics company they talked about another company’s UPS (I think it was). They checked the charging of the battery at intervals and recharged the battery by sending a pretty large short voltage pulse that fully recharged the battery – neat method…
I’ve charged a pair of NiMH C-batteries for my bicycle lamp by connecting them directly to a 3V powersupply a couple of times… That seemed to work. 😀
Battery charging is a science of it’s own…
This is EXACLTY why I won’t try to make a charger off of it as well lol! I will stay with the diode schematic and that is IT!
That way I am sure it will work and I won’t hear an explosion in the middle of the night when leaving my VB on for the highscores hehe.
I have one more question, I have made a red circle in the picture that Vaughanabe13 posted. Isn’t the part in the red circle completely redundant? I would think that applying that part would add up the voltage of the adaptor with the voltage of the battery pack. Or am I completely out of line here 😉 ?
Wouldn’t it be just right as in the second picture?

Thanks for all the info, as I can tell I think the first option seems the most viable. I do not like batteries that are constantly charged, especially the batteries that I use, they have a special charger to prevent them form blowing up LOL. So the diode option seems to be best in my situation, soldering in a capacitor wouldn’t be much of a problem and will secure it even more. Because of that I will solder that one in as well.
Still haven’t thought about how I to make it yet, but have some plans. The biggest issue is to figure out how to have all the connections coming together and to get it all in a package. I might even go the controller adaptor cable way and have the battery pack connected externally.
Man, you just MADE MY DAY, very understandable and doable for me! Thanks a lot! I will go to the local electronics store tomorrow to get some shottkys 😛
Thanks!

Here are the few different versions! Choose which ever one you like!

So is the FlashBoy just used to load ROMs and hombrew games on the VB, or are there other uses I don’t know about? Is there any other way to test your own code on the VB hardware or do you need a flashboy?
You can just load any ROM on it as long as you padded it to 2MB which you can do with the padder that you can download for free here and will be supplied with the Flashboy. The only drawback of the Flashboy is that it does not hold savegames/highscores. Though it still plays the games that use it, after a power cycle the saves/highscores are gone.
There are other ways to test code and all that, but you either have to use an emulator or build your own card as DogP has a tutorial for. If you are good with a soldering iron and know your electronics, you are good. Though it might turn out to be more expensive. If you do this right you can use savegames if you used the right cart though!
Well, keep us posted! I am very interested in good deals as always 😉
Very nice stuff, thanks for releasing this guys!
Good to hear you got it finally and it is in perfect working condition! I hope you enjoy your VB as much as I do!!

You are right , VirtualBoy is healthier than this substance… and you just give me a good idea to make my first own game : Virtual Hash 😀
Haha, well, if you will make it, collectors like mawa and others will have another game to buy 😉
Hehe, thanks for the congratz. Too bad there is no direct link, but at least we have the option for it and that is cool as it is!
EDIT:
I now see there is a highscore top 10 on the FP indeed, I never noticed that. That is kind of what I was after 😉

If I were Dutchman , I wouldn’t spend money on virtual boy carts too . Hash powaa!! 😀
LOL!
If I were a user of said substance, I would grow it myself to save the money as most people do here. Though I do not smoke that stuff, have tried it once or tiwce, but it is NOT for me. Just give me the Virtual Boy experience, way better than that 😀 !

I guess the FlashBoy helps keeping the prices down on real cassettes then – as the demand for those gets lower. Thank you.😉
My pleasure! 😎

I guess that’s the reason neither you nor Force81 have many games in your collection so far.
For me that is absolutely correct! I have a Flashboy and am more interested in playing the system/games and havind a perfectly functioning VB. The boxes and original games do not really interest me.
But that set aside, it is always nice if someone finishes his/her collection. If the games would all be 10 Euro max I would be collecting as well, but that is just me!
