…I know some people were talking about making custom cases…
Cases are for chumps. 😛
I would just make the PCB long enough to include a dedicated component-less portion on its protruding end for grabbing the cart when pulling it out of the system, to avoid any unwanted contact or damage to components.
My siblings and I rented one from blockbuster back in the day. I wasn’t fortunate enough to get one for christmas that year, nor was I old enough to spend that kind of money on one myself. I bought my first one on ebay in 2003 for $13. I now own 6 (4 are in pieces).
That would be cool, but it wouldn’t be able to close again once its been opened (assuming you’re speaking of blister packaging), correct? Though it would be awesome to have a cardboard box with a vacuum formed window in the front like the Pokemon Mini or Gameboy Micro packaging.

I don’t think this game should conform to any traditional standards. It should be the ‘piece de resistance’ of the Virtual Boy. Something that utilizes all of the VB’s strengths… The 3D should be a pivotal part of the gameplay not just an effect, it should make proper use of the dual D-Pads, the stereo sound, and the immersion of the VB. I want a game that is only possible on our red buddy. That said, I am not a fluent coder so I will not be able to contribute in that realm but I’ve been sketching up a few ideas that I think fit the bill (I could also contribute writing music for the soundtrack). I will post some ideas when I’m home and the boss isn’t looking over my shoulder. LOL

I personally think all black would be best… even in the headphone example, the connector on the headphone is black. It seems like everything that connects to the bottom of the VB is black (controller, headphones, stand)… I think the link cable should be as well.
Good point. Black is the most logical because it falls in line with the other connectors used for the system. I just don’t want it to get lost in the sea of black cables I own. I think such a specialty cable deserves a color scheme equally as special… but I’m happy either way!
I’d buy one. I think that red connectors with a black cable would be the best route (like the red/black scheme of the official headphones), and would give it that VB charm.
I’ve always thought it would be cool to do a Virtual Boy themed game. The Virtual Boy itself could be the main character, just gotta make the stand into some legs (and maybe red beams of light shooting out of its eyes?). I’m sure this would be a game that everyone here would enjoy.

To be straight forward like I am most of the time 😛
On top of page “community –> vb dev wiki” then just get reading, its not easy for me who has never made a game because you need to program for each visor unlike on other systems like the atari 2600
Also there is no way of making money of a game because the only way to play them on hardware is threw the flashboy (free roms threw usb cable)
So box art is out of the question but like I said just get reading and it might be easier then it looks, who knows
He is not trying to learn how to code a game himself, he is trying to find someone who will use his artwork in a game that they’re coding.
Didn’t anyones mother tell them not to engage in any sort of religious debate on the internet?

That was sort of my point (and I’m sorry to have derailed the thread so much, but I think it’s important). You wouldn’t walk down the street and call a random stranger’s girlfriend lame to their face because you didn’t like what they were wearing. It’s fine to disagree, just do so respectfully.
Off topic:
I’m pretty sure asking the girlfriend politely wouldn’t go over so well either. “Excuse me, ma’am, but why those shoes?” You’d get smacked by her or punched by the boyfriend. LOL.
On topic:
Thanks for the link RunnerPack, some good stuff there.

Nice Photoshop work! But the lighting of the carts can be better. They are not matching with the background light direction. Try to take a picture of one cart with realistic lighting and cut every single cover of your carts and put it on the dublicates.
