Nice. Picked up a few. Any chance of manuals for the current box onlys in the near future?
I would assume so. The manuals and labels are all done. (Except for Innsmouth… still working on that one)
I hope everyone enjoys the boxes! 🙂
You’re a boss dude.
I appreciate all that you do! :]
Wow! :O
This is pretty cool!
I probably would have never realized these differences had you not pointed them out.
Just another thing I’ll have to keep an eye out for when shopping around. 🙂
Also, that cable thingy is called a Ferrite Bead.

Wow-za… that’s literally it.
I can’t believe he didn’t even attempt to crop it or anything. xD

Already quotes VirtuousRage from this very thread.
I’m famous~!! 😀
Eh.
Color me faithless, but I find most of these “I have lots of info, but I’m going to just trickle it out in tiny fragments” a hot load of garbage.
Reminding me a lot of the whole “Polybius” arcade cabinet stuff.
( Great video on that here btw: https://youtu.be/_7X6Yeydgyg )
If you just take this “box art” example he’s provided you can clearly tell the StarFox logo is cut out from another image as you can still see some white pixels around the edges. ( Take the bottom right of the X for example. )
Also, the font used for “REDZONE” is called “Beyond” a font made in 2011 by “imagex”.
Nintendo would have to be pulling off some crazy time travel for that to happen.
Finally, I would question his story about this “box art” being used to show investors. From my experience, this is not common practice, but I think I’ve already put this to bed.
I truly will never understand how/why people like this “Issac” fellow get off on just perpetuating lies. :/
This is freaking awesome dude!!
I might also have to build myself one of these!
I really appreciate you linking to all the pieces that you used as well. 😀

And now… V-Tetris manual is completed!!! 😀
With this completed the light at the end of the project’s tunnel grows brighter! All that remains now is spooky monster house! 😛
Gaaaah!

Out of curiosity, did you use my original translations for the story or the separate translations that got posted here:
I’ve used your translations for the base of all of these. (Unless you didn’t do something… like the speech bubbles… then I just ask my friend in Japan or use the google translate phone app)
But, I rewrite all of them in someway that I personally feel sounds better or more localized.
Here is what I wrote the story to be:
In the year 2095, on a planet far from Earth, a research and development facility was built. Known as the Virtual Lab Research Institute, it became the number one hub where scientists went to study. The head of the institute, Dr. Katagiri, was currently examining the ecology of a unique organism called “Mu.”
“Ha, ha, ha!… Once I announce the discovery of this organism at the upcoming
conference, my fame and recognition will reach a whole new level! …But first, I could use a nap.”
While the doctor was napping in his office, his assistant came barging in panicking.
“Dr. Katagiri, wake up! There’s an emergency!!”
In a daze, he got up and rushed to the laboratory. Upon entering, they noticed that the room temperature regulation unit had failed. With the increase in temperature, the “Mu” had begun to proliferate rapidly.
“Oh no!… This is terrible! Ken, you mustn’t mention this to anyone. If this news were to spread, it would tarnish my great reputation! Now if you’ll excuse me, I think there’s a good hiding spot in my office.”
“What? Wait!… What should I do with these?” said Ken.
“Lisa will be back from school soon; we’ll leave it to her. She’ll think of something!” Katagiri said as he ran from the lab.
“That’s a horrible idea, Doctor!” said Ken as he followed Dr. Katagiri, who was already no longer visible.
When Lisa arrived at the laboratory, there was an unusual sight as she opened the doors. The strange “Mu” organisms were covering the room from wall to wall.
“What are these?” she said.
“Are these the organisms my father has been studying?”
Lisa couldn’t see her father or anyone else in the room. As she turned away to run she noticed a note on the back of the door. It was from Dr. Katagiri. Written on the note was the cause of the situation and a solution.
Note in hand, Lisa slowly turned back to see the “Mu’s” continuously replicating.
Thread resurrection!!
It’s been awhile, but I’ve finally finished the Virtual Lab manual!
I took a few creative liberties with it since the original version is vertical…
Now all that’s left is the manual for Innsmouth and V-Tetris.
I have an idea for something else Virtual Boy related that I think I might tackle first. 🙂
(P.S. Everything I’ve done on this thread is in the hands of the great Tusk. Waiting for the hopes of one day these coming to life!)
