oh! haha. That explains it!

oh, nice. so the visor does sit ok in there! So that’s good to see then! I might still cut a little away from the controller buttons just so they’re not under constant pressure. Ive seen the rubber membrane weaken on controllers where they don’t spring back as strong when theyre stored for a while with pressure on the buttons.

It’s awesome you made repair foam! I’ll probably grab a set!
If you don’t mind, had some feedback I noticed compared to the original that perhaps you could incorporate into a 2nd revision?

In the picture, it sort of looks like the virtual boy visor is being pushed on and distorted by the case foam whereas in the original there is a gap that keeps it away.

Also noticed in the original, there is some gap by the controller buttons so the foam doesnt put pressure on them and weaken their spring over time.

See the photos I attached. Could probably also just cut the existing foam but thought I’d give the feedback to get your thoughts!

ah. Is yours a little tight when pushing it into the virtual boy? Like compared to a normal game?

Any idea who actually made the boards for these? My understanding is Uncle Tusk did the box art, MK/Anon the game, but who did the hardware?

And this is why I need to make myself notes, lol.

Here’s what it looks like inside.

oh awesome! thanks for posting! Looks like my cart is the same as yours. I also have that same cutout in the shell to make room for the battery. haha.

Does your case bulge slightly around the connector? My case needs to be squeezed some to get it back on and pushes up a little by the connector. Looks like, for me at least, its due to the solder joints sticking up a bit on the connector. Maybe ill take my iron to then and level them out some more.

Actually, I own a Hyper Fighting that I have no clue of it’s origin so I can open it up but I’m also curious to know what the originals look like too.

Does anyone have a shot of what the inside of an original run looks like?

ah. good to know! Seems like he’s the go to!

Been looking into doing some VB dev myself lately (versus my usual quiet lurker status XD ) Was wondering what game board hardware you end up using when producing these? I see a few guys like Mellot have designed their own boards. Did you design your own or is there someone you’ve found to be trustworthy in this regard?
