Hmm, is it too thick or is it too short?
When I bought mine, it didn’t fit either. So I used a…well the name eludes me, but basically I ground off some of the metal from the sides so it could fit.
After this, I was just barely to unscrew the deepest screws.

Count me in! Though a quick question; can I assume by wanting the donor carts “shell”, the PCB won’t be needed or am I wrong in assuming that?

Hilarious video! I look forward to seeing it on GT.

Not to go too off topic, but I am intrigued by your VB head strap. Is there any chance for you to post how we can make our own?

Seems like something I’d wear on my campus..

I’m quite intrigued in this topic as a lot of my games need a battery replacement:

Would this battery suffice as a replacement?

Or does anyone know of a cheaper source?

Tried it on my flashboy; works perfectly on hardware! Great potential!

^Laziness here too, actually.
That and I want to work on my time, though 1st place seems like too much of a challenge to takeover :O

I’m also stuck on the “hard mode” in the game. Too hard, imo

Thanks, from Arizona!

Twas a day filled with turkey; now to finish it off with some Space Squash.

The same “pixelated” bug still remains as in the other version, but it’s still very much playable long as you don’t sit your ship still 🙂

I don’t understand. Can you take a picture? Pause the game, and if necessary, press Select to remove the “game paused” text.

Anyway, yes, you should move all the time. Standing still makes you vulnerable. 🙂

Hey, sorry it took a while, I was busy with college work.
But I took some pics so you have an idea of what the “garbled graphics” look like, even though a solution seems to have been found:

(the ship will be on the left side of the screen)

First, a shot taken while moving the ship around:

Second, a shot of what happens when the ship sits still for a second or two:

Third, a shot of what happens when you don’t move the ship for about half a minute:

Wow, Hunter had a substantial win!
All great entries to the VB homebrew library, I might add 😉

Good point. Black is the most logical because it falls in line with the other connectors used for the system. I just don’t want it to get lost in the sea of black cables I own. I think such a specialty cable deserves a color scheme equally as special… but I’m happy either way!

^^My thoughts exactly.
If there isn’t any price difference and it isn’t too much of a hassle, would it be possible to produce a few of the red connector/black cable color schemes to those that confirm the intention to purchase one, then make the rest black?

Just ran that version on my flashboy and I REALLY like the 3d effect! I was also able to get to level 2 for once haha

The same “pixelated” bug still remains as in the other version, but it’s still very much playable long as you don’t sit your ship still 🙂

That all sounds good to me, personally!

As far as the colors go, I could imagine red connectors with a black cable to be a fairly attractive scheme, and it would be more unique for the VB rather than a pure black cable, but either way works with me!

I would most likely take one, too!

Glad to see scans were done of this magazine!

If you need any help editing it:
I’m currently in college, so I don’t have too much free time, but if you would be willing to send me the scans I could give my hand in editing them under Photoshop when I have free time, bit by bit. It could however take a few months to complete, but I’d imagine it would be helpful all the same.

3d Virtual Boy Magazine

It is waaay overpriced in my opinion. But at the same time, it seems really intriguing due to the “crossed eye” images.

There seems to be only a scan of the cover here on PVB of it, which is at a low resolution as well:

^I just tried running it through my FlashBoy and it works!
Renders without any error 🙂

So I just tried this on a FlashBoy Plus, and it is rather buggy. There are vertical lines, and the graphics “shake” left and right. But regardless, I really like the concept!

Oooh, really? Sorry about that… It works flawlessly in mednafen. I wonder what’s causing the vertical lines… Where do they appear? Does the screen shake only when rendering or the whole time?

I flashed it on just now to double check, and the vertical lines appear from start up. They are essentially black lines spread out amongst the whole screen.
The horizontal shaking occurs the entire time as well.

It really is quite intriguing as to what is causing these issues on the real system vs mednafen

*Signs*

Beat it on the original difficulty, and I am currently in the process of beating it in hard mode, which is indeed rather hard and frustration inducing.

I went ahead and tried this in my FB Plus and it works! I see no graphical errors or anything. 🙂

I presume you mean when flashing to a FlashBoy\Plus? If so, yes.

Try using different usb ports and use the included USB cable and it should work.

My PC has several USB ports, and only one of them works with the cart/software. I also tried using a different USB cable with it in the correct port, and it gave the same error. When using the included USB cable in the correct port, it flashed with no errors.
